Amazon is selling Crucial M4 256GB for USD199.99 right now but unfortunately they are still not shipping to Malaysia.. I wonder if our local distributor complained to Crucial or something like that. After owikh posted that crazy price he got from Amazon previously I've been monitoring the price daily or even hourly (just for the lulz, lol), and I would add to cart and attempt to checkout (to the point of picking shipping address) just to see the final price. After just a few days, it was no longer possible to get it shipped to Malaysia. I kept on doing the same thing and till today the status remains the same.

M4 vs Vertex4

You probably won't notice a huge difference between them but here's a couple things to consider. 4k performance is what peope looking for 24/7 although the difference is hardly noticeable but Vertex4's 4k is double the M4.

The M4 and Vertex 4 both use Marvell controllers, but the latter is rebranded to Indilinx with its own in-house firmware. It's also likely to be a newer version as the performance is better than what firmware can do for it.

M4 - Marvell 88SS9174-BLD2
Vertex4 - Marvell 88SS9187? (Or at least an overclocked 88SS9174 with custom firmware)

I chose M4 because of performance/price + provem reliability but if got promo i would definitely give Vertex4 a try. Later... later bro

No worries top up to RM750 you could actually get a local MY warranted M4 256 (hikari85) or RM699 SG warranty (beetle_larvae). My usd199 when converted to MYR is roughly RM675 each including shipping fee. Sometime amazon do ship some stuffs to Msia but sometimes some other stuffs they dont send. smile.gif

There are old and new Indilinx controllers, old ones used the original non-Marvell. New and latest ones using a modded Marvell controller on par or better than the Crucial M4 & Intel 520s. So far there are at least 4 firmware updates by OCZ after v4 is launched and the latest one being the best performer.

Intel 520 120GB sandforce controller. So far no BSOD yet after a week of usage. Looks good and stable.
Perhaps this might give a little difference on an Ivy bridge and Z77 board.

Sure no BSOD like before, since all of them update firmware.

So far from all the 330 owners I know, none of them have issues yet.
As stable as the M4 and in some cases, faster.

Your 4k speed is very good, nothing to worry about there.
As for BSODs, you can just make a check of 520 owners on google... less than 0.1% has BSOD issues.

The ones who has issues are either DOA drives or they did something stupid with it.

Whats ur system full spec?
I think AMD chipset is sucked sweat.gif
My HyperX can only do read 21.6MB and write 73.31 MB, thats random data
0x00 fill is only faster a bit, n my write speed sometime is faster than read rclxub.gif

And update your SATA/AHCI/RAID driver. may help to improve the performance.
