QUOTE(amenlo9 @ Jan 26 2012, 03:22 PM) thanks for your info. mind to tell me why my SSD only running on IDE mode? is it because of motherboard limitation? I am using budget mobo below: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...spx?pid=3960#ovRead post #137. Your board has 4 x SATA 3Gb/s connectors supporting up to 4 SATA 3Gb/s devices . After change in Windows and BIOS (AHCI),you must install Intel® Rapid Storage Manager (10.8.0.1003): http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20710/eng/...10.8.0.1003.exeThis post has been edited by stasio: Jan 26 2012, 04:13 PM

Do this when you are in IDE mode:
1) Open Run command ( type regedit) 2) Navigate to Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci 3) Set the "Start" value to 0 (zero) 4) Navigate to Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Pciide 5) Set the "Start" value to 0 (zero) 6) Shut down 7) Start up again, but before Windows boots go into the BIOS configuration screens and change the disk mode to "AHCI". Save the new BIOS configuration and restart so that Windows boots.

Just uninstalled Intel® RST 11.5.0.1149 driver as per my post #1101. Tried also 11.1.0.1006 (not good) and found the best one atm...Intel® RST 11.0.0.1032.

QUOTE(Vannus @ Jun 3 2012, 04:52 PM) Intel 520 120GB sandforce controller. So far no BSOD yet after a week of usage. Looks good and stable. Perhaps this might give a little difference on an Ivy bridge and Z77 board. Sure no BSOD like before, since all of them update firmware.
