QUOTE(law1777 @ May 31 2012, 09:32 PM) i think its my bios version. when i was in AHCI mode after bios it will give notice like 'this version of bios is only compatible with HDD n CDROM etc' This behavior should be normal and acts as just a reminder only. I don't think it is a warning. FYI, SSD also acts like a HDD. The bios will feel that they are running a HDD. Anyway, can you still use your SSD after enable AHCI.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 1 2012, 12:59 AM) Weird... your mobo should have no problems being in AHCI mode. The P55 chipset doesn't have issues when in AHCI mode either. Perhaps update your BIOS? Yes it's true. thats's why they come with 5 years warranty? The only limitation is your SATA 2, which will bottleneck your SSD. But nonetheless, it will still be fast when running on SATA 2. The favorite SSD on this thread goes to Crucial M4. Anyway you don't have to limit yourself to the crucial m4. There are also intel, corsair, ocz. But the crucial m4 is the best bang for the buck right now.

QUOTE(Vannus @ May 31 2012, 08:15 PM) Vertex4 or intel 520. New+ fastest ssd on earth vs reliabilty+ 2nd fastest. Headache which to choose. Any comments? Had the same delema as you did but at the end decided paying extra RM50 is worth the money if it reduces the odds significantly that a RMA is required. OCZ has the highest failure rate whilie Intel has the lowest. That was enough to convice me to pay the premium.
