if u can manage stocks and options, UTs are peanuts thumbup.gif
*
Actually quite different as I'm a trend follower ie I don't care about fundamental, purely technical trading. The longest I'll hold is 2 months. So UT would be a challenge to manage since I'll be holding it for years and fund performance is important. Only reason I'm in UT is for my EPF and wifey saving.

10k- require 1 million and 10% yield. How ben3003 progress to archieve ?
*
If purely UT, very hard la. Need to go for higher risk like stock options and commodity. Can achieve 10K per month even with 300K capital.

BULLSH*T!

Price of gold mining companies' stocks CAN fall even when gold prices are rising (as in the case in 2012).

http://www.oskuob.com.my/OSKUOB/index.jsp

Basically u take no. of units u hold multiplied by the current price, e.g. u have 1,000 units, current price is RM1.250, so your current value is RM1,250.00

Learn this the hard way. Bought a bunch of AmPrecious Metal more than a year ago and it drop like a rock although gold price went up. Better go with actual gold account in UOB but unfortunately UOB don't provide online trading facility.

Valid til 1st March 2013, use once only, but can use for multiple purchases e.g. buy Fund A, Fund B, Fund C and Fund D in same day, all get 0.88% SC.

That's why ppl say, READ THE PROSPECTUS! tongue.gif

but with physical gold, if gold prices move sideway, u earn nothing. Gold funds like OUGGF and APM u earn dividends from the companies.

Luckily I didn't buy gold or commodities related fund at all.

Got one time I didn't wanted to jump into AmPrecious Metal.

Was choosing between AmPrecious Metal and AmAsia Pacific REIT.

Finally made mind with later one and it was a right decision. ROI: 9.86%, XIRR: 18.18%

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Feb 21 2013, 07:47 PM)
depends on the company u working in, u whole life work in chinamen company u think u get 1million? not all employers think like tat, of coz it a basis that they pay u depend on how much can make the company profit. But different employers different way, 1 company 1 yr turnover 2mil, maybe they pay u 2k only when u die die find 2mil business for them? Different employers different expectations, as i said, u need alot of luck.

well, i din even touch about investing and spending, i mean ur net salary from the company. An employee in Shell if ur total salary gained is below 3mil when u retire is consider puny. I believe Oil and Gas is different thing, the company like exxon net profit 40bn USD a year after they pay all ur salary, that's why salary big. getting 40-60k per month as a department manager in shell is not something big. So anyone plan to come over to work here? biggrin.gif
*
Maybe you got wrong perception about chinaman company, some chinaman company pays very competitively, especially those larger ones... laugh.gif

RM 1 million is on paper only, not many people have RM 1 million in cash.
