now i'm a bit confused..what kind of announcement are you expecting from the banks? Are you actually expecting them to say something like :

Maybank is compatible with Galaxy W - Custom ROM XXX with ICS?

Point being in the US, most people buy phones with the plans on contract so their phones are heavily subsidized. Given 800USD, I can get myself 4 Galaxy SII with a contract each.

Midrange phones are usually free or very cheap with plans because the contracts tie people down for 2 years so most would opt for a higher range phone which is more value for money in the long run.

And this phone may not be as popular in the US because it simply doesn't exist there. Samsung doesn't sell it there but given the response from XDA Developers forum, this phone is gaining quite a fanbase.

nope no compatibility issues AFAIK. I've been using the popular cyanogenmod on my nexus one for months...perfect..

Dont worry on the customed ROM any ROM developed n uploaded at XDA carrying the CyanogenMod TM are all certified to be used.

It includes no telco carrier embeded etc.

Need not worry all of the developers at XDA are helping each other in the ROM cooking for free in return for recognition.

FYI SGW ICS Developer, arco68 is a recognised contributor to XDA has even helped a fortcoming dev for SGW ROM based on GB scheduled to be uploaded after Xmas.....

where got , i though it's 1 year warranty ? when will it have RM 50 vouchers ?

just now .. when someone call dont hear anything .. i call also cant hear anything .. so i restart the phone then all ok ..

this the 4th time this problem happen since bought SGW in october.

omg..just realized nver used this phone to make or rcvd calls..as I use this phone to surf net only...data plan simcard..

my problem so far...

-usb socket sometimes not functioning..now ok d...

-this evening while rcving 1 sms..the phone vibrating non stop...need to shutdown to get rid of it...q

I thought I was the only one. Last time mine also got kena, vibrate non stop. Have to off the phone & on back then only got rid of the problem. Made me scared I thought I spoil the phone or what, haha

We wait CM9 is launching officially next year....never ask for dateline from them....

hurm...quite troublesome...need to off evrytime problem occur...
