actually its not confirmed yet still but galaxy S isn't getting it so i dont expect galaxy w to be getting it either despite it being a newer handset. go ahead with galaxy nexus s if you really care about getting ICS

dude..using a custom ROM won't make you risk your online banking la..come on..as long as you are using a popular ROM it is fine not some shady one...what you are saying is more akin to like using a different operating system other than windows will risk spoiling your PC hardware...that's..rubbish.

do you even know how custom ROMs are built anyway? The ROMs are built from the AOSP - Android Open Source Project and its not like the browser is written by some Ali/Abu developer, etc...so rest assured, it is safe.

Yes there is already work in progress on an ics based custom. Don't worry. A popular handset will sure have custom rom.

now i'm a bit confused..what kind of announcement are you expecting from the banks? Are you actually expecting them to say something like :

Maybank is compatible with Galaxy W - Custom ROM XXX with ICS?

nope no compatibility issues AFAIK. I've been using the popular cyanogenmod on my nexus one for months...perfect..

1) Well if you root just bear in mind that your warranty will void although you could un-root it back but I recall there's a way for samsung to tell that you've rooted before via some sort of counter..i cant be sure as my wife's SGW is not rooted..other than that, it doesnt affect whats in your phone. Unless u tinker with them yourself.

2) Can only be done by mapping the file path if u root it OR through some patching of the game APK, need some skills to do this - I guess u can get cowithgun for help on this, i never tried it before since my wife's SGW s not rooted. My nexus one only have 2 layers of memory so dont have such problem

huh what u mean by prevent the apps from being locked? dun get u..

sounds more like screen time out setting - go to your settings > display area there and set a higher timeout. alternatively get an app like screen on toggler (my own app) - see my signature to temporarily toggle the screen timeout via the notification bar.

under proper lighting - yep...but dont expect superior quality though..
