Hi, I read in /k/ that Samsung Galaxy isn't getting a ICS update, and most similiar spec model will probably not a ICS update too. Is that true? And can we still use a ROM based on ICS then?

But if anyone else got experience of using an Android Phone for personal banking, please share. This post has been edited by kalandra: Dec 24 2011, 02:19 PM

The ROMs are built from the AOSP - Android Open Source Project and its not like the browser is written by some Ali/Abu developer, etc...so rest assured, it is safe. Thanks for correct my way of thinking. So, is Galaxy W getting attention in the ROM community? Or is it somewhat of unpopular device (I know its popular here, but we're not the one making the ROMs).

A popular handset will sure have custom rom. This post has been edited by CyberKewl: Dec 24 2011, 03:00 PM

I don't know how popular it is outside of Malaysia/Asia. We spend RM800 - RM900 to buy this phone. With 800 USD, you can get an Iphone4s in US. Low/mid end product is definitely not as popular there as here. Anyway thanks, I think thats the last question. Will wait for some announcement from banks before actually buying the phone
