not really sure la bout that...heard from sme peeps from my hometown in sabah that there's a new shop called michael's drum planet...not sure whether its actually a drumshop or more of a drum school.gotta check that place out once i come back.

Hmm.. You'll have to consider a lot of factors. For some reason, in Malaysia, "exclusive" distributorship is a big thing.

But first:

There is no doubt that there is demand nowadays, for a "drum" shop, but whether it'll do well, remains to be seen.

You'll probably need the big brands, for the cymbals, which means getting a dealership (which costs a lot) from places like Yamaha (Sabian) and Bentley (Zildjian) and so on, so forth. I don't think smaller brands like UFIP or TRX and even Istanbul or Soultone would do too well at first, perhaps you could bring it in later on.

Drumset brands are also mostly taken up by "exclusive" distributors as well. So, you might want to look into opening up your shop for used sets as well.

Unless, you want to make this shop an exclusive shop, that caters to pros only? But then you wouldn't probably do too well.

I would love to see Battlefield, SJC, UFIP, Brady, Axis and Trick on Malaysian soil someday
