I'm really getting annoyed with our local music stores. The stuff that they don't generally bring in all the time, they're lazy to go and find out the cost.

Don't read the below text if you don't want to read a wall of rant.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Anyway, to me it seems as though our local shops really aren't very interested in going through the hassle of bringing in a special high-end kit or the like, even for a special order. Really, in Malaysia, when was the last time you saw a Pearl Reference, Tama Starclassic, Yamaha Recording Custom, Mapex Orion, Ludwig Classic Maple, DW Professional kit being displayed in a store for sale?

Even when I sell kits, I generally tend to focus on the low-midrange market, because that is all that our friends here have in stock most of the time. Everything else, 6 months or longer wait. Is this the reason why we don't really have nice gear around Msia?

I think most of the shops we have here nowadays don't know the real meaning of the word: service.
*
Sadly, people here likes to inquire about many things but when it comes to buying, they'll end up saying, I'll definitely buy it if I have the money. It is an advantage to know someone from a shop or until the point that they know you personally, then your inquiries will be much easier.

As for high end kits, let say as a dealer, you can sell 1 high end kit in a year and makes a profit of 2k. For the low ends you can sell 24 kits in a year with a profit of RM300 per set. Because of that, I think its reasonable not to stock of the high end ones.

Keep it in mind, regular people doesn't give much attention on drums. It's a challenging area to do business so, just try to be patience and give them the support they need.

Too lazy too list down. Basically, drums are combination of PDP X7+ Pearl VMX. Snares are Pearl + Mapex. Cymbals are mainly Sabian + Few Staggs. Skins are all Evans G1 Top & Bottom for all toms except for 18inch I'm having a hard time looking for a pair. Hardwares; rack is from Pearl, remote hihats left side is from Gibraltar, right is from Pearl.

Bro, you play lefty ka?
*
Yup! I play open hand. But recently I've been trying to develop and to be able to lead with my right hand, and left foot. That's why the setup is almost balanced left & right. Very difficult and the progress is not that good.

CK Music. I'm using one. When I bought mine, H2n wasn't around yet. I prefer that over the Q3HD.

What's up guys!

Anyone here familiar with Gibraltar Remote Hi Hat Stand? (9607ML-UA Hi Hat Stand with Moveable Leg Base)

I'm having a problem with the rod connection. I'm trying to remove the Short Upper Tube (Refer here : http://www.gibraltarhardware.com/pdf/GibraltarParts2010.pdf pg.14). It wont move. Anyone knows where I can send it for a quick repair? Bicycle shop maybe?

I decided to email directly to Gibraltar Hardware for the issue. This is the reply from them:

Thank you for your email. I am sorry to hear of your issue. When did you purchase the hi hat stand? There is no way for this stand to be repaired, it will need to be replaced. Please send me a copy of your receipt, and I can help facilitate getting you the new model Ultra Adjust hi hat stand.

I guess I'm hunting for one now.
