Yes you can try to shape/work on it while it is still soft... at about 30 minutes in till 3 hours to 4 hours.. one of the application is making water/lake as advertised/shown in the instruction manual... not cheap though... RM100 to RM120 just for 300g... imported mine from Japan

I never seen crystal clear resin. How do you prevent it from getting dirty while waiting for it to dry? Also how u get rid of those linings. I never seen clear resin so hard for me to imagine.
You can pick out any impurities when it is still soft and the resin will reshape/smooth out ... as it has a long work/harderning time.. bubbles will be gone too...

Added on February 18, 2009, 8:47 pmYou might want to use clear acrylic plastic as a base to minimise the needed resin...
available on HS.....

Just wondering did they apply any paint on the clear resin to get those white wave effects?

what you have to do is u colour the plaster to blue for sea, green for lake or longkang and so on

before you add in the resin , after rthe resin already harden you used white colour to make the wave

this is what i know .

i manage to found the C.clear resin in 1 of the art shop at the Garden they are selling around RM 190 without the harderner if add will be around RM 250 doh.gif

have to search at S'pore see can get cheaper or not

Well won't it be difficult if you color the plaster before you shaped the resin? Also you have to use semi clear colors?

Art shop in Gardens are usually expensive high end stuff. How about around Central Market? I pass by there most of the time.

Raichu do you wear glove when you make them? If not won't it get fingerprints all over?

And how do you treat it after you finished making them? I mean if you leave it as it is dust will start to stick on them and impossible to remove.
You're pretty good. Can I have that Teddy Bear with a ribbon on it?
*
Nah , i dont use gloves. The hardest part in modeling is learning to control the pressure of your fingers. Pretend ur dealing with a hot hard boil egg.
Humidity has alot to do with the fingerprints also, so if u are in a hot place or sweaty hands, since iclay is water based, you will leave fingerprints. A nice air con room will cure that. If you REALLY have sweaty hand in air con, use a little baby lotion.

As for treatment, if you do not plan to re-cycle the clay, the cheapest is to use clear finger nail polish.
