On my way

When I was young, at that era when only plasticine is available and no fancy sculpting or polymer clay to use, i'll create some mud by mixing water and earth together, mould them to the shape I want (usually dinasour or monsters), dry them in the sun and paint them. But after a while they will start to crack. However, the experience was fun indeed

Hmmm... I'm trying to find out where to get polymer clay actually! I found some websites where they do polymer clay... and the things they make are just crazy good http://pic4.piczo.com/tinythinkers/?g=23856825&cr=4http://www.elvenwork.com/elvsamp1.htmlhttp://www.fantasywithin.com/pasworbotmer.htmlI want to make some little figures and stuff to put on soap dishes to go with my handmade soaps range. Anyone know of an art shop that sells polymer clay nearer to Bangsar than Venus Art? Not even sure if they sell it there... someone else told me about an art shop in Balakong that sells polymer clay too... but I can't remember the name.

How to prevent clay from cracking? I once build something out of PlayDoh and it cracked. I bough a small box of new type of clay which is very light but have yet open it up.

I bough a small box of new type of clay which is very light but have yet open it up. Depends on the material used. PlayDoh will crack no matter what you try to do once it dried. With I-Clay if i make a clay model like the ones pictured above, it will not crack. Another thing that will help is before you shape, knead and stretch the clay to get rid of the air bubbles. Raichu do you wear glove when you make them? If not won't it get fingerprints all over?
And how do you treat it after you finished making them? I mean if you leave it as it is dust will start to stick on them and impossible to remove.
You're pretty good. Can I have that Teddy Bear with a ribbon on it?

A 2 part crystal clear resin, slow hardening time (6 hours or more till solid), exothermic heat that may melt/deform some plastic... Hardern to very durable clear plastic... A Japanese product, 1:2 ratio mix.. This post has been edited by BeastX: Feb 18 2009, 06:31 PM

I never seen crystal clear resin. How do you prevent it from getting dirty while waiting for it to dry? Also how u get rid of those linings. I never seen clear resin so hard for me to imagine.
