May I know where do you get this Daddy mee? Local brand? Cos instant noodles play a large part in my nutritional meals when I need a change from white rice. I usually eat 3 big packets of the Korean noodles cooked dry style with my chicken cooked separately but the noodles are expensive!

QUOTE(Winning11 @ Dec 12 2011, 02:01 AM) last time i got it free though. Thanks man. Will look out for it. Lol instant noodles have starchy high GI carbs, excellent for workout days. I can sapu close to 200 grams of carbs after gym so even 3 packets of Korean noodles not enough so I'll eat something sugary for dessert like chocolates or ice cream. Best part is te nutrients are labeled so it's so easy to count how much I need. Only had thing is the high sodium content which causes water retention but who cares I'm not competing at the moment. My dad would buy a whole box of them. If you're talking about soup based Maggi curry will always be my fav. QUOTE(Lzhiwei @ Dec 12 2011, 03:44 PM) There's make in china and make in korea. I've tried quite a number of korean instant noodles. Paldo is the best. The noodle has the right texture, colour and taste. It is also one of the most expensive - around Rm17 for 5 packets. Samyang (Sutah) isn't bad either. The strangest thing is most korean instant noodle come in hot and spicy flavour only. Even seafood or beef flavour doesn't taste like what it is supposed to be. i've never come across chicken flavour either. At rm3 or more a pack, it is incredibly expensive when hawker noodles are around rm4 to rm5.

Maggi mee asam laksa.
Make sure you remove the chemical that is holding the mee together by cooking it 1st round, throw water and 2nd round with the soup. The chemical is not good for your body and digestion. |

Cintan mee goreng pedas! I will then add in oyster sauce, sesame oil, fried egg, bok choy and sausage or char siew if I go out and buy some back from the stall nearby!
imho I am not a fan of the sup instant mee as they all seem to taste too artificial with all the MSG powder... the Maggie sup is the worse This post has been edited by AxeFire: Nov 4 2013, 04:39 PM |

It depends on the soup base for me. If the broth becomes thin (like maggi), after cooking the noodles I pour away half of the water so that there's more taste in the soup.
With heavier broths (usually Korean or Taiwanese instant noodles) after I cook the noodles I pour out a quarter of the water, then let everything boil for a while, then put a slice of cheese or two in Favorite instant noodles : Jin Ramen, Spaghetti Ramen, the Korean one with a raccoon mascot, and so much more >~< |

Maggi Curry with dried prawns. After cooking and served in a bowl, put in an egg. The half cooked egg blends well with the soup. It thickens the soup.

1. Add maggi curry into bowl with seasoning.
2. Pour hot water. Add egg. 3. Put in Microwave for 1 min. 4. Drizzle with some lemon juice. 5. Add cheese if you wanna get real fat. |

QUOTE(abubin @ Jul 16 2014, 11:12 PM) i heard there is a new instant curry noodle in town that is better than mykuali!! anyone knows about it? if i'm not wrong, there're 2 now. If I'm not mistaken, 1 is called Ah Lai curry mee and the other is Granny Recipe curry mee. Saw them both in my home's dry food cabinet months back. Must be my mom buy to try. Based on my old and deteriorating taste buds, Ah Lai is less spicy and Granny tastes almost similar to mykuali. Packaging also similar so don't know if it's a copycat act or a multi-brand strategy from mykuali manufacturers.Either way, all 3 will taste good with some taofu pok and hot dogs added. |

Instant noodles - dont use seasonings,
instead, boil the noodles till cooked, put in sauces (chili, onion oil, fried chopped onions, tomato sauce, black kicap abit [depends on personal preference], then mix it all up tangily at the end. Its nice trust me. |

Me use Maggie's black pepper seasoning pack.
Add water, vegetable oil cook it into sauce form. Add vegetable (orange carrot, long bean...etc ) Than boil spaghetti in plain water until it soft, than pour away the water and than add the black pepper sauce+vegetable to the spaghetti. ![]() |

Thats the right way to do it to save money. So what I did, I use those seasonings during camping or go and give my frens during pot luck. AHAAHA |

what you are about to read contain NON-HALAL material. Please proceed with caution.....
I found this bak kut teh instant noodle. Not A1. This is sold in "Weng Hiong" dried meat shop. Very expensive too. 1 pack of 5 cost RM12.50. I will post the picture later... Tried few days ago. I must say..wow. Immediately after eating, I felt the HEAT. I don't feel that even eating normal bak kut teh soup. This one really heaty. But taste is not bad. Actually taste better than A1. According to the shop where I bought it from, the person said this brand have extra herbs. Hence the heatiness. |

![]() I didn't have the chance to try the penang white curry from mykuali, only the Nanyang brand. It's delicious, the noodles is chewy and quite thick, not soggy and thin. The broth is well flavoured with santan. Quite expensive though, RM7.50 for 4 packet (I'm in EM). |

i like those spicy korean ramen, Shin ramyun and Pulmuone (a healthier alternative) are my favorites.
no matter what ramyun i cook, i must add 2 tbsp of gochujang (korean chili paste) to give the soup an extra kick, it makes the soup thicker and spicier. then i will add bakchoy and beef balls or tofu. Sometimes vegetarian balls with mushroom flavors, quite nice. other than that, i like mi sedap, ina sambal noodle not bad. some i haven't tried, but i don't quite like maggi. Don't need to go for the "imported" instant noodles from Korea, China or Taiwan costing RM10 or more. The cheap local RM3+ for 5 packets of Maggi, Mamee Indo-mee or Cintan are more delicious than the imported ones. The noodles of the imported ones are fat and tasteless and more difficult to chew.
Also, better avoid Taiwan and China products as you won't know what kind of chemicals they used to produce the instant noodles. |

Wonder whether Maggi Mee (the cheaper range, e.g. Kari, Ayam, Tomyam) tastes sh*ttier now, and cannot fix my hunger.
It used to be better back in the days! |

Whenever i cook korean ramyun i always add 2 tbsp of gochujang for that extra spicy and thick soup because gochujang has fermented glutinous rice. It really makes a huge difference if u opt out the gochujang.
Then, i underlay the soup with soaked korean seaweed. Sometimes i switch with bak choy. When it comes to chewiness nothing can beat spicy kimchi ramyun by Pulmuone, not even samyang. Too bad jaya grocer not selling that brand anymore. |

QUOTE(Sour Plum @ Sep 18 2017, 09:14 AM) Those selling at supermarket are made in malaysia? exactly. there are some alternate brands that taste the same as the original indomieWhere to buy the one made in indonesia? I miss the old indomie. just look for mie goreng.... anything made in indonesia is close enough example: sarimi fried chicken flavor (available in malaysia) http://www.indofood.com/product/sarimi/product quite close.
