The momax batt for the 9900/9790 is not cheap.

I searched for it on http://shop.momax.net/, found product code BABL9900XL and the price listed was HKD198, for a battery that has a bit more juice than the original JM1 (1400mah vs 1230mah).

The Sun Global battery (supposedly 1850mah) retails for RM89 and cheaper prices can be found online.

actually what is the different between 9790 & 9900? both specs exactly the same just that the outlook different

This topic has been discussed over and over again . U can read a few pages back , u'll find the answers .

to summarize it:

9790 is more "handy" as it is smaller and lighter. but screen size is also smaller.

9900 has bigger screen and better keyboard, but is more expensive.

It is important for you to "feel" it yourself. Check them out at phone shops. I have seen them on display in maxis stores.

for me, i prefer 9790.

Should be ok to install on your 9790 as long as u delete the 2 vendor.xml files on your computer after downloading and installing the software/firmware, before u try to update your phone.
