Anyone interested to get a third party 1450mah 'JM1' batt for his/her 9790? I found a seller in CN who sells for about RM350 for 15 units, which is less than RM25 (I think) per battery+cloner-kit. Some sort of bulk buy, perhaps?

Have never heard of this e-power brand. Also don't remember seeing it before in Penang. 1300mah is the only capacity available for the 9900/9790?

Run on 2g, carry a spare batt, carry a power bank, charge in the car etc..

Not yet, need to wait for OS7.1 for this feature.

Seems like this new feature called 'battery saving mode' found only in the 7.1 leak for the 9790 (for now) is making some waves out there..

I just found that it can be set permanently ON instead of based on battery level. Not sure what it does though, my phone seems to run the same with or without this mode enabled - maybe it's some deep, low-level mumbo jumbo

So far so good.. very smooth process, the upgrade from OS7.0.

OS7.1 with battery saving mode enabled always, today..



15 hours+ uptime with about 30% battery left in 3G mode, with about a total of 1 hour of active usage. Tomorrow I will turn the mode off and try again.

Yes, still the standard JM-1 battery.

The upgrade process is the same like when you install a leaked or official firmware. Tutorial is available at http://n4bb.com/leaked-blackberry-bold-9790-os-7-1-0-247 which I think is using BBSAK. To use the standard BB DM, please search at Crackberry.com.

Hi dyn09, do you need to reclone the sunglobal battery at every reboot/battery_pull? I am curious if the sunglobal battery for the 9790 behaves like the one for the 9810 (reclone only if batt is drained) or the 9900 (reclone at every reboot).

BB's GPS need BIS to run, if I remember correctly - not sure if there is any offline map+navigation software like GarminXT on S60 phones. Anyway, to save on hassles, I'll probably get myself a standalone GPS device if I really need navigational guidance while driving.

The cloning kit and instructions will come with the third party battery, don't worry.

No lag. Smooth like butter, all my apps and settings are in place.

You experience the lag even right just after installing 7.1 before restoring your apps and data? Weird, I have more than 500 photos in my microSD and sliding/swiping between them is very smooth for me. In fact I feel 7.1 to be speedier than 7.0, overall.

I don't know if having microSD (or not) affects the performance of OS7.1.
