Wow at last official thread for 9790 is opened! I'm proud owner of black 9790.. Seems .528 has been released. I just upgraded .496 this morning.. For those who having problem installing new OS, follow this step.
1) Uninstall everything related with BlackBerry on your pc.
2) Install BlackBerry Desktop Software version 7.0.0.32 betadownload link
3) Install the new OS on your computer.
4) Delete vendor.xml (usually located at C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader)
5) connect usb wit ur blackberry and run Loader.exe (located at previous folder)
6) wait till its done. finished! The blackberry desktop software version 7 part really helped me completing the process because the current desktop software usb driver and apploader seems having bug during accessing boot rom.

i mean.. the duration is 5 to 10 minutes.. not, BB will reboot in 5- 10 minutes
anyway try uninstall any OS in your computer.. and try install the newer OS back..
have u install blackberry desktop software..? does the software can recognize 9790 ..?
alright... There's a little option already ticked(apps already installed in my 9790)..not like the screen shot posted above(the unticked options..language etc.) After I click the next button,"No actions are required." was stated there..then I click finish button,it finished just like that..no 5-10 minutes duration. I got on my desktop the 6.1 version bb desktop software and it sure does recognised my 9790. and..nope,this is my 1st time using BBSAK.. so...how eh??
i am really interested in the 9790 but am concern or 2 things. Battery life and screen size. Currently using Samsung Galaxy S2. could you guys pls share on your experience with the phone in regard to these 2 areas? thanks a million!

Battery life better on SGS2 and of course the SGS II screen display thrump the mediocre 2.5" blackberry display The BB is only good as a push email phone n messenger ; other than that its apps are generally mediocre and not much choice I have also problem cannot update my OS to latest 528. I have no problem updating OS on my previous 9900 and 9860. I have removed all the BB OS and just installed only the latest 528 for the 9790. When I choose update - it says no update available. I tried to do it executing LOADER - it only display my list of apps and no option to update the OS

seems BBSAK cannot recognized your phone, so i wont suggest u to use BBSAK to update.. just use Blackberry Desktop Software..
ok.. firstly, uninstalled all BB OS in your computer, go to control panel -> Uninstall Program -> find Blackberry Device Software 7.00...for 9790[something like that] uninstall that..
then.. if you have CCleaner, run ccleaner and clean your computer.. OR just restart your computer
then.. can freshly install the .528
ok.. since you have backup your data... dont choose backup @ restore again in Loader apps [it will says recommended] .. just choose the non recommended options [there are two option, click the non recommended]
then. see how is it.. goes...
