check the space of the IHS to the PCB.. usually a chip with the IHS very nicely seated has a very very short distance between the PCB and the IHS..

Taking off the IHS helps alot wink.gif

taking the ihs...hehe...no thanks, unlike u who have a collection of proc gems, i only have one maa...too risky.

tampoi: currently using the BTa version...and since mine is 9x multiplier, hitting a 3ghz wif air cooling wif our climate is near impossible...cabne 0530 prolly, cab2e 0540 + air cooling + our climate = near impossible (not impossible yet), will keep pushing thumbup.gif

it helps if you're SURELY how to remove it... warranty surely void by doing that...

if you're not very sure how to do it... it is extremely NOT recommended.. however if you want to remove the IHS, here's the guide...

3Ghz on air is possible here, for some quick test run and benchies. And could be near impossible for 24/7 usage, unless anyone there dare to bet on that by running on 3ghz 24/7 for a try out. tongue.gif
