Hi Guys,

- My Rig: iPhone 4, Sansa Clip Plus and Laptop usage
- Type of usage: Music only
- File format: MP3, FLAC
- Music genre: Various, but I'm more toward heavy bass, a bass head so to said
- Budget: RM150, willing to fork a little bit more if it's worth it.
- Headphone/ earphone type: IEM
- Other requirements (if any): NONE

I'm currently is using Hippo Boom, and quite satisfy with it, but sadly recently it broke, only one side got sound. I'm actually thinking of getting Hippo Shroom, considering that I'm very satisfied with Hippo Boom. Anyone have any good suggestion?

Thanks!

you can even pick up little detail with this can, listening to movie is like-- heaven?

go try at Jaben Penang (branch), and you have my words on it better let you decide yourself la

Yup, why not go to Jaben Penang. Everyone have different taste, different listening style, different ears. Asking here won't help much. Even myself still looking for a better headphone even already have more than 5. The best way is to try yourself, only you know which one suit your ears.

We can only recommend the model we have tested our-self.

Yes it's sucks but you can buy the USB DAC. If you can afford AD900, DAC is nothing for you.

Anyway, I think Jaben should have their own laptop for testing. Just bring some movie you familiar in thumbdrive.

You cannot go to Jaben? That's I cannot say anything.

1. Portable or home use? Do you want in-ears or earphones? Do you want it at jogging/gym or just listening in the office? Tell us more.
Basically, I will be using it all the time, except when I am working, talking to people or listening to lectures. I just can't stand the people around me talking all the time and making the noises, for example, a typical chinese restaurant, it is very noisy with the people talking, the waiter shouting or worse, the noise of plates or glasses fall.

2. Pricerange. I hate to ask this but in general, the higher price tag one will be better sounding.
Well, my budget is around RM400, but cheaper is better (best bang for bucks) tongue.gif but if there is some nice personal audio which worth some extra money, please recommend them as well.

3. What headphone/earphone experience do you have or own previously. Do you like them? Or do you dislike them? What signature do you like? Less bass from the sonys'? More soundstage from MS2i? Sometimes adding an amp would just help, just the synergy that everyone experienced.
I haven't been very serious about my personal audio device. All I have been using are stock earphones came with the mp3 or mobile phone. I bought a Asus Vulcan ANC recently but it is only suitable for gaming (absolutely accurate about positioning) but it is not for music nor movie because I found the sound is flat.

4. Which genre of music you listen most? There must be one that you like most. Rock? Heavy metal? Classical music? Vocals? Jazz? What will you certainly NOT listen to? The headphones that is suitable specific genre will differs a lot and will sometimes not suitable for another genre. No one listens to everything, but if you do, you might want several different sets of headphones rather than one.
My favourite genre is vocal (Adele songs), but I also enjoy pop songs, christian songs and some trance musics. I am really certain that I won't be listening to rock, heavy metal, techno or anything that is similar because I cannot stand the noise, it is like something is trying to pierce through my ears or boom my ear drum non-stop (no offence to the people who like those genres though). But then i still need some decent bass because i will be watching movies. Well, action movies normally comes with gunfires and stuffs breaking, right? cool2.gif

5. What you listen with. What player do you have? Using an amp? What type of source? It all makes a difference.
Laptop: Asus G53SW Mobile phone: Samsung Galaxy S2 mp3: iriver T9 So, I dont use an amp sad.gif want to own one in the future though

So, what I am looking for is something (be it headphone, earphone or whatever-phone-that-you-name-it) that has excellent sound and some bass (for movie purposes) but fits within my budget. I also need noise isolation and noise cancellation. Thank you in advance. cool.gif

I found that Jays a-Jays One+ may be a good choice because it can be used on my phone. unsure.gif

Hi guys. Im planning to upgrade my cans. Currently using audio technica ad500. Now wanna get something with warm sound signature, and not tiring after hours of listening. Purpose is mainly music, specifically jazz and oldies. What do u guys recommend? Budget around 1k (max can go 1.2k). Thanks! notworthy.gif

Warm signature? I can only think of D2000/2nd hand HD650 at that price range. Otherwise DT880/SRH940 they are bright sounding cans but I think they will do better for jazz and oldies.

Oh, forgot about DT770pro, they are pretty good too. Check it out.
