Hi guys. Im planning to upgrade my cans. Currently using audio technica ad500. Now wanna get something with warm sound signature, and not tiring after hours of listening. Purpose is mainly music, specifically jazz and oldies. What do u guys recommend? Budget around 1k (max can go 1.2k). Thanks! notworthy.gif

Warm signature? I can only think of D2000/2nd hand HD650 at that price range. Otherwise DT880/SRH940 they are bright sounding cans but I think they will do better for jazz and oldies.

Oh, forgot about DT770pro, they are pretty good too. Check it out.

The d2000 and dt880 both out of my budget.. sweat.gif but maybe i can topup a bit.. How about hd600? Wonder if it performs well for jazz. hmm.gif

Try visit Atlas Hifi in Sunway or The Garden.
They got Bose (genuine) there.
U can do a sound check!
Give a try before u spend! smile.gif  thumbup.gif

I've been reading about these ATH-AD series for sometimes now... reviews on them are great, my only concern is that its an open back headphone which mean sound leakage, which is no good for me since my desktop is in a room with someone else who usually asleep while I am on my pc late at nite.. smile.gif any alternative with similar greatness and comfort?  thanks thumbup.gif  cool.gif

the sound leak isnt that obvious IMHO. sure ur friend might be able to hear what u're hearing if he's nearby, but it's not loud enough that it will disturb his sleep. unless he is sleeping right next to u.
the only disadvantage i can think of is the lack of privacy. if u watch prawn, then ur friend will know u're watching prawn. lol.
