Need some ideas as for a portable headphone, closed, over the ear in the price range of RM100 - 500 .

I currently use a DT231pro and while it's immensely comfortable, it just sits over the ears instead of around it. A portable version of the M50s would be alright biggrin.gif

why not you get 2-3 different headphones since your music taste encompasses a wide range.

Assuming if budget is no issue to you for those, just get 1 high end closed-back and 1 high end open-back. And you can burn the rest of the cash on a dedicated amp and whatnot. And maybe look into IEMs after that.

If you can, get a Stax SR-009, imo its way better than the HD800, which I've also personally auditioned both, but those cost like USD 5k each. brows.gif Also, if you do get the Stax, you need an electrostat amp.

lol electrostatics.

get an orthodynamic headphone if you want something different. fostex t50rp with mods, for starters. You just need an amp with sufficient driving power, no portables here.
