- My Rig: Laptop & Samsung Galaxy Ace
- Type of usage: Music, Gaming, Movie
- File format: MP3, MP4, AVI, WMV, FLA
- Music genre: Club hits, Pop, Rock, Oldies
- Budget: RM 200-350
- Headphone/ earphone type: Headphones
- Other requirements (if any): Home & office use. More of a base guy. laugh.gif Comfortable to wear for long hours.

I have some questions though:
1. What's the difference between open cans and closed?
2. Which one is better open or closed cans?
3. Is Grado the same as Alessandro?
4. Currently considering these 4 headphones:

a) Audio Technica || Pro5Mk2 DJ Professional Headphone
b) Audio-Technica || AD300 Open Air Dynamic Full Size Headphone
c) Grado SR60i
d) Grado SR80i

Or do you guys have any other recommendation? Thanks for helping out. cool.gif

[1] Difference between open cans and closed cans : Head-Fi.org

[2] Depends on your preferences: Music - open cans (wide soundstage) | Movie + Gaming - closed cans (isolation + bass)

[3] Alessandro collaborate with Grado Labs for Grado Music Series headphones like Beats by Dr. Dre with Monster or Quincy with AKG : Alessandro

[4]
a) Audio-Technica ATH-PRO5MK2 : Bass + Portable + Closed headphone
b) Audio-Technica ATH-AD300 : Entry audiophile + Comfortable + Open headphone
c) d) Grado SR60i + SR80i : Try ask other member, not tested it yet

**Since you use it at home and office better get closed cans (ATH-PRO5MK2, ATH-M35, Sony MDR-PQ1, Aerial7 Tank) so that you wont disturb others at your office smile.gif

Warning! Most IEMs with mic and volume control are designed for iOS devices only. sweat.gif Chances are, the volume control will not work on the S2. sweat.gif

Had tested the following mic only IEMs to work on the S2 nod.gif

gshoppe85, thanks for the info but I'm curious how much sound would leak out from an open can? Is it really loud or just soft? smile.gif

Hi Guys,

- My Rig: iPhone 4, Sansa Clip Plus and Laptop usage
- Type of usage: Music only
- File format: MP3, FLAC
- Music genre: Various, but I'm more toward heavy bass, a bass head so to said
- Budget: RM150, willing to fork a little bit more if it's worth it.
- Headphone/ earphone type: IEM
- Other requirements (if any): NONE

I'm currently is using Hippo Boom, and quite satisfy with it, but sadly recently it broke, only one side got sound. I'm actually thinking of getting Hippo Shroom, considering that I'm very satisfied with Hippo Boom. Anyone have any good suggestion?

Thanks!

Guys... Quick question here.. need help

My setup Desktop PC---> MediaMonkey--->TinyTube DAC---> Beyer DT880 (250)...

so the question if u hear poping/scrething/unknown krak sound, how do i adjust it? do i need to increase the ampdac drive/vol knob? or adjust the PC master vol or i need to adjust the player (mediamonkey) vol ?

PS: AmpDAC and Headphone kinda new less than 50hours usage...

1 more thing... do i need to use EQ? because some of the music seem too flat for me, etc heavy rock, but for other's slow song, it seems with the EQ setting for heavy fast rock song their treble seems to harsh~
