The Galaxy Nexus is more responsive and looks more polished UI-wise than the Galaxy Note. The dreaded swipe lag is there on the Note, not on the Nexus.

GNex has nicer screen due to the smaller pixels, while GNote has noticeable jagged text, similar to SGS.

1280 x 800 on Note, versus 1280 x 720p on Nexus. Not much difference, other than screen size. Depends on what you need. I'm replacing the iPad with the Note, and the same with the Nexus for the iPhone 4S.

just to share my opinion between note and nexus.

smoothness: nexus wins. note menu navigation is super lag!!

video playback: note is a clear winner. nexus video player cant play certain file, and most 1080 file even if it's playable has some lag.

speed: both are fast. but nexus is noticeably faster. i always read e-books in pdf format, and nexus loads all pages instantly. no need to wait for it to load even if i scroll through pages with speed

display: both display are awesome. nexus color is a bit bluish and the white is a bit yellowish. note has brighter and richer color. for me in terms of sharpness, nexus wins, but for color, note wins.

camera: note is better for both still image and video recording.

web browser: i prefer nexus not because it's really good, but note is poor in this. text reflow in note is not working and that is really frustrating..

should i buy the nexus? absolutely! but i dont think it can totally replace my note. the note will be used for watching vids, youtube while nexus will be used for web browsing, reading pdf books.

The browser doesnt come with this feature, or it was disabled (default)?

So far Sammy's browsers never lacked of text reflow yet.

Added on December 6, 2011, 12:58 amNotice in GSM Arena that this phone is called "Samsung Galaxy Nexus" instead of "Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus" or "Samsung Galaxy Google Nexus". Previous Nexus phones naming was "<brand> Google Nexus <model>".

I wonder what is the implication of this new naming, or it wasnt really a Google phone? Did Google changed their name to Galaxy? lol.

A follow up to the "Android graphics true facts" it explains why is Android laggy, while iOS, Windows Phone 7, QNX, and WebOS are fluid.

Nexus is the Google's part of the name. Calling it Samsung is probably because Samsung manufactured the phone, I don't think there are any other implication.

GSM Arena should called Google Galaxy Nexus or just Galaxy Nexus without the manufacturer name. Same with Google One and Nexus S without HTC or Samsung name infront of it o_O

Agree. but calling it "Google", then right after that "Galaxy" feels really weird. lol

Should have named it Nexus Galaxy instead if the Galaxy name must stay, like the previous 2 Nexus, its Nexus ___, not ___ Nexus, if you get what I mean. laugh.gif

Yes., i agreed. Dont know what was Google thinking when they select the name. It breaks the tradition that using Nexus name first followed by the generation. Should be called Google Nexus Galaxy or Nexus Galaxy or just Nexus G.

In GSM Arena's listing...
Samsung Google Nexus S
HTC Google Nexus One

etc...

Manufacturer's name was listed, though I'm not 100% sure if those were the official announced/approved name by Google.
