Status : Stagnant @ 500 to 700 nests
Stage : 6 yrs plus
Progress : Young birds fledged and left. < 10% remain. Some adult residents also left. Old residents grow old and gone.
Didn't do any major revamp.

May or may not be your own BH problem since there were satisfactory growth throughout the previous years. New competitors rise up in recent years? Nearby vegetation area got developed? Have you checked and changed deteriorated tweeters? 6 years is time to change.

At least 6 mega BHs around. Average and not super good.
Vegetation nearby is around sungei pahang. Not sure got bug change or not.
Speakers were replaced every now and then. Old cable almost all out and replaced with tin-copper pink insulation type.

Internal sound changed twice.

There are so many things that can go wrong.

Most baby birds will leave to colonise other BHs or different areas in the same BH. So, having many BHs in your area is good as the babies from the others will hopefully colonise yours. Making partitions or rooms within your own BH will create the effect of a new area.

Birds once settled in a BH seldom move unless there are factors causing them to move, eg predator, over harvesting, etc.

Changing sounds is not entirely necessary. Sometimes you get a better ie more attractive sound but on the other hand you might get a worse sound. There have been cases where some changed their sound to a distress sound that attracts a lot of birds for the wrong reason. These won't stay, instead chase existing birds away.

Once well populated the internal sound is unnecessary as the natural sounds from existing nesting birds will be more attractive.

Lack of food likely only produces smaller and thinner nests. These birds can fly very far, 20kms+ to forage.
