what would the reason be for decrease in quantity? isit ranchers more lazy to harvest or the population actually decrease due to external factors. my BH still not yet reach 1000 after so many years. always trying many things to improve the house.

I engaged Pak Harry for my Revamp

and find he to be very nice person. on the contrary unlike some of you describe him to be con man

his charge is RM 1,000 for site visit, report, every month visit and whatsapp consultancy. which I think is worth every cent.

unlike some sifus(quite a number of sifu approach me) who offer me 50/50 JV, but refuse to disclose their technique.

Angel, I also learn a lot from Pak Harry blog follow all his advice and apply to my own BH. A generous person who willing share knowledge. The only thing I worry to do is the VIP room because my partner said bird not able to find back it's nest and bang the wall etc.

the statement is like saying swiftlet are not able to GPS locate its own BH and its own nest despite echolication capabilities

once they build their nest, they know its here and its theirs

oh I was suppose to go in to by BH yesterday, but weather did not permit. So will try these few days to see if can get in and have a look around the progress of the nests. on last count its been stagnant at 600+- for a few months. Maybe it was the owl issue that caused uncertainty in the community.

there are several ways to remove owl disturbance

1) install light bulb at the entrance

as believe that owl1s increase its night vision will need scan more to absorb light
this extra bulb will make it extreme glare

2) install spike on the entrance


3) install autogate which is the best options

Sifus. I have an offer for a bh. Of course is not in good shape because of owl and seller not interested taking care. Is it better i construct a new house or i buy existing? Whats the market price per nest worth now if i m buying the bh?

the old timer who start the BH already make a tone of money. Currently they focus on other thing, such as Budget hotel, properties, land....

the new comer mostly will be suffer.

I not saying the business not good, it still ok to invest if you have extra money. Last peak 1kgs can sell up to 4k (all in no matter is Grade a, yin zan, bird shit within the nest) the dealer just sapu all & give you cash on hand.

after the China ban incident, license needed, greedy parties want to monopoly the export,,,,,i believe the BN price still hanging below rm 2.5k per kgs. (is not the updated price)

if you have extra money, just invest in the existing BH which already have nest. Let say more than one thousand nest within is a good starting. You just need to improve it better instead of buying a bad shape coz it hard to turn it back to good shape. But you have to get a details how long the BH been operate to have one thousand BH (within 4-5 year from 0 having more than 1k bird nest is best ) . Look around & how many BH surrounding. You have to better than other to attract the new bird coming in. There always an opportunity that owner will let go a good BH (ex. retire, nobody take care, enough to invest at other.......)

thanks for the information. Very helpful indeed. The person selling to me is an old chap who has many bh. I got to find out from him how many nests and how long it took to build up. I m not very optimistic of it. Thats y i want to price it correctly with the rm per existing nest. I understand it is abt rm300 per existing nest nia. Not sure how true. For sure the bh need to be redesign again.

Anyone doing processing in here, recently asked a friend to clean some nests for me and he tells me he didn't use chemical or food glue... How do we know for sure besides going for lab test? Anything we can do on our own?
