Sorry for my ingorance...
By the count of the nests, when will you be able to get back your investment?

I mean it is not cheap . Lets assume standalone BH costs RM300k...

I heard  that a lot of pp get back their investment in  3 -5 years... .
With this kind of growth nowadays... pp can't even to breakeven in 10 years
*
Hi, i also not sure when I can get back my investment but I feel happy icon_idea.gif & satisfy when I see those bird entering my BH & bird nest on the plank... I only can hope as my BH is not at prime zone, near my area also not much BH...

make your own auto close RCD/ELCB  - Note this is not a ' FUSE '  this unit detects residual or leaking current to earth so preventing accidental electrocution.

A small car wiper or power window motor is used to reset a normal RCD/ELCB. This is coupled with a timer so that the reset is done after a delay of 20 mins. or so  to prevent immediate reset due to electrocution. I use a electronic counter to count the number of resets as high counts could mean that the electrical system is being tripped by something other than lightning.

A replaceable surge protector is available for direct placement into you standard fuse box, about RM70 or you can make your own using components that cost half as much. Note that any surge protector that does not burn or self destroy after a few surges is not necessarily doing it's job. A Varistor is the major component of a surge protector, these are the DISK like components found in the surge protectors, very cheap to replace or made into a DIY surge protector.

Have fun and learn a little about electronics and electrics, save yourself some money in the long run. Most of all, save yourself the trouble of trying to get someone to help you fix the problem.

Hi All Sifus, need advice how to increase BH temperature especially at night. I already OFF all the water pump, exhaust fan, close up most of the ventilation holes but still the temperature recorded the lowest at 24 degree. My BH with only single wall and also located in rural area.

Thanks for the advice, currently my BH stagnant at around 100 birds and it seems like all the young baby birds never stay back. I suspect is due to the cold temperature at night and it swing from 24~30 degree. The roving area is by S shape type with big nesting hall. I not so sure where I should put the partition. Can advice?

Hi all Sifu, need help badly due to my BH already 2 yrs & 10 months but only have 70 nests. My BH is single floor 20'X60' and using monkey house type. Is this type of partition good? Should I maintain or renovate the roving area?

Hi Northface, any recommendation how I should renovate this type of partition?

Thanks Jo Yeo, which center partition you mean? Is it the partition with 2 speaker on the wall? I also plan to do so but worry the light will pollute the nesting hall. My BH do not have any partition inside nesting area.

Hi Jo Yeo, thanks for your feedback. Pls review again my revised picture according to your idea and I worry the area that I circled will be very bright. Currently that area occupied by quite number of nest. My JV partner said maybe we can make a 2"X3" hole at that wall and install speaker.

Dear All, my BH monkey house orientation is facing the sun set and this cause high temperature happen at that area in the afternoon until night fall. The reason I have to build it facing sun set is mainly due to surrounding trees and neighbouring houses. Is there anyone here facing the same problem? Is it ok if I put more exhaust fan at roving room to suck out the hot air and avoid it from going into the nesting hall?

OMG, my BH also just attacked by owl last night where my dad saw a big bird fly near to the monkey house while those birds return home. The big bird grapped a swiftlet then immediately fly into the woods. May I know where I should put the light at the monkey house and what time it should be turn ON?

Hi Mois, sorry for asking a noob question. What do you mean by Banci? If nest is 180 degree but the bottom side is empty due to using fake nest & nest build on backside of speaker, this type of nest clasify as what category?

Hi Swift4ever, I just bought a drum of EM from my Sifu. He said that is good to clear the fungus on nesting plank. Since you used it before, mind to share with me the result of using EM? Are you still using it now? Thanks!

Hi All Sifus, I plan to errect a partition inside nesting hall but worry old birds bang onto the new partition. If suddenly errect a new partition or VIP room will cause bird lost way to find their nest?

hi

mind share? ur progress ??

I engaged Pak Harry for my Revamp

and find he to be very nice person. on the contrary unlike some of you describe him to be con man

his charge is RM 1,000 for site visit, report, every month visit and whatsapp consultancy. which I think is worth every cent.

unlike some sifus(quite a number of sifu approach me) who offer me 50/50 JV, but refuse to disclose their technique.

Angel, I also learn a lot from Pak Harry blog follow all his advice and apply to my own BH. A generous person who willing share knowledge. The only thing I worry to do is the VIP room because my partner said bird not able to find back it's nest and bang the wall etc.
