i think once they see the price of D800 also they dont want to sell their D700.
afterall the low light performance good enough already, unless of cos D800 get D3 performance.
then after that ppl will contemplate between getting used D3 or brand new D800 which both probably at same price

D700 = D3's sensor , ISO wise they are the same... Unless you're referring to D3s then its different.
