Basically SB910 removed the over-heat protection and throw in some colour filter lah ?
I guess not too bad, when I saw noob use SB900 it really troubles them. Worse come to worst, noob don't know sb900 has the protection and they keep spam like how paparazzi did end up overheat have to turn off for a while to continue hahaha |

Thermal protection was not removed, it was 'improved' or rather modified.I guess not too bad, when I saw noob use SB900 it really troubles them. Worse come to worst, noob don't know sb900 has the protection and they keep spam like how paparazzi did end up overheat have to turn off for a while to continue hahaha SB900 - Flash performs as normal until overheat then cuts off SB910 - Flash recycle rate decreases when overheat, thus making it able to last longer but recycle rate becomes longer. Same style as the 580EXII. Conclusion, when you really need the flash recycle rate performance, the SB900 will come in handy instead of the SB910 which has slow down the recycle rate... |

QUOTE(Irbean @ Jan 10 2012, 08:45 AM) Add on, SB900 was the flagship before this. The SB910 is a refresh model with tweaks (especially on the thermal cut).. but performance wise is the same. Same power output, whatever SB910 can do, the SB900 can do as well. |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jan 10 2012, 10:03 AM) The thermal cut thingy is Nikon's best selling point of SB910... if update SB900 then how to sell SB910? However, from the way the recycle rate behaves, we can actually apply the same thing on SB-900 but it is just that we need to be "manual" than it is automated. Given that, SB-900 actually gives the option where we can burst multiple times with faster refresh rate compared to the SB-910. Hence if you have got SB-900, should there be no solid convince to move to SB-910 but just to adjust the way you use the SB-900 |
