I mean, these are the settings which usually raise up my SB-900 temperature.

I do that when I'm using D90 and kit lens back then... but after I have faster lens and dare to pump higher ISO, i rarely hit the limit so I just let the thermal cut come in. At the moment rarely use flash, the other time shoot in big ball room didn't have issue so far.
So now the SB910 behaves like the 580II...
Its normal to have dead pixels on the sensor, try shooting in broad day light directly into the sun and you will kill couple of pixels in the progress I don't think there's any sensor in the world that is defect free from dead pixels.

sifoos ... can someone guide me on flash settings i mean ppl always use f-stop numbers to mention about light power. For example :
Does it mean f/5.6 light versus f/8 light, the f/8 is higher power?

I have Nissin Di622MII (TTL) and YN-560 (non-TTL). how to set up both of them for proper lighting?
*i have Sekonic light meter too. I measured with it and the f/8 gives more power. Correct right?

So how do you normally setup for the lightings? which one shud be higher power or lower power (foreground, background, fill light, etc)

BTW, I use Eneloop Harmolattice 2500mAh too. it's awesome. I think it charges my flash faster between exposures. I'm happy. It lasts long too

Added on December 1, 2011, 4:39 pmAnd how about the zooms? ... I'm confused also ... why got 24mm, 35mm, etc on the flash ..hehe ..sorry noob question.. I straight away play with flash without knowing much about zooms on flash. I simply control the flash power only so far....or use TTL lor. 

TTL you can still control, use Flash Compensation for easy adjustment, can lower the power or increase the power.

just asking on you guys opinions la, I've had my hands on d3100 kit loaned by my friend for a day or so and ever since dslr bug starts biting. hard.

so, been searching up and downs the internet over the nikons that worth while considering includes d3100, d5000, d40, and d80.

I like d3100 but, somehow it just doesnt cut it for me. It seemed, limited. I want to do more. Tho, perhaps on the 2 day it was on loaned, I might have used maybe 70% of its full potential.

D5000 looks good on spec sheet compared to d3100. Truth be told that d3100, d5000 and d40 cant AF with lenses without motor. That sucks. I like to have a descent lenses that is able to AF (Im noob ma, cant simply manual focus one... ), besides, they are cheaper I presume?

so it  goes down to d80, spec sheet is better tho it is only 10megapix. But, hey, Im not gonna print an image of size A2 from it! Im just suka-suka photography only. What's nice is, it has focus motor in it. Yes! So, i could buy cheapo 50 1/8 lens and still can AF. Yeeha!

my question is, d80 is no longer brand new available in the market. Cuz they are already 2 years old (?). Hence the option goes to the used market. I am wondering tho, d90 is much better than d80 but the price is way off my budget. Am I doing the right choice of getting d80 at this time of the year?
