me update using kies.. cause don't want to lost those apps... took me more than 30 minutes as it needs to download the files and I only hv 1MB line..

so far ok.. only need to re-root, and putting back the gps fix and gpu driver.. surfing is faster for sure..

Battery life slightly improve 2-3%.running stock rom.3G on all time,bulk msg,some call,few web browse,no games...average 1hour drop 5%.b4 on 2.3.5 average 1hour drop 7% with same usage.
Just the infamous touchwiz buggy still appear, where as u arrange the app position u would like to,after some time,it will arrange self back to by alphabetical setting.

Guys,

1. how to upgrade to this new 2.3.6 using kies? downloaded the file, and then?
2. this upgrade would not effect phone's warranty, right?

i use odin when i was upgrading to 2.3.5, everything works well. but make sure u do a full backup for everything, unlike kies, using odin u will lose everything including ur apps and data.

eer... I just update using Odin. But I didn't loose anything. But its already full2.3.6
Anyone face this? Or mine special...
It works fine now. better than before. Smooth...
Obvious is the phone lock interface. Battery life improve alot...base on daily usage.

Not sure about the usage but this S plus is my wife's phone..

Confirmed smoother interface den before, web browsing smoother..

Looks like this phone is going to last her another 1 year..

I wonder after this value pack update, will Samsung continue giving support for S Plus.. Unlike Xperia range, continuous support from Sony

i doubt so.. 2.3.6 will probably be the last gingerbread update. im not even sure if samsung got produce 2.3.7
then v3 is only for tablet and v4 is ICS edi.. s plus confirm won't get ics so the only thing is to flash cm9 which is based on ics 4.0.4
