The new interface is nice. it looks better and is kinda fast too. will try it through the night and try to update when im on again.

Already update to 2.3.6 using kies..so far feel it quite smooth...

i update to 2.3.6. quite smooth.

nope... just backup my contact and sms

using kies to update it, after updating all the files is still around.

so far it's ok... feel alot better than 2.3.5

how long to update 2.3.6 using kies?

yeah...finally got update to 2.3.6 thru kies

yesterday i screw up my phone when updating accidently disconnecting phone cable...try on it but stuck at samsung logo...so i bring to samsung center to revive it back BUT all my latest data sms, contacts, apps gone .....



now next step install ROOT,missing apps, gpu driver and gps fixes

All sifu please help...
I tried few time to update to 2.3.6 but failed...
It showed "operation has time out!!!

kies im not sure, but odin is less than 10 min

u use odin or kies?

It depend on ur cnection.coz first it will dnload the data.after that it takes bout ten minutes.

hmm try again later and see. is ur connection stable? time out usually means that it try to connect but no respond

I tried >5times already using kies...but displayed the same msg...
Is it I rooted my phone cannot update using KIES?

don't think its has anything to do with root. well u can use odin as final method. follow d instruction on 1st page and ur good to go.

about 15 minutes when i update mine.

for those who have update it, how is the battery life?

I'm from indonesia, have this great phone with broken usb (can't charge & connect to PC) so I must use this phone with 2 batteries that charged separately. For installing custom rom I use feamod recovery, this works great exept the recycling boot to recovery bug that being known on xda forum, so when I saw a new CWM recovery can fix this bug I immediately install it on my sgs+. Unfortunately it can't boot to system or recovery again just show samsung logo then off without reaction. The download mode is fine, but because the broken usb I can't flash it with odin..

Samsung center on jakarta can't repair my device because it bought from malaysia & they don't have the spare parts.. so I need an information how to send my phone to malaysian samsung center or how I can get the spare part (usb or full board) & how much the prediction cost (I have the warranty till next desember, but I guess it useless)

Oh, I must agree with you on this. I got this message too. But mainly it is due to connection slow.
However, when my phone in DL mode, kies suddenly pops up message that "error during DL" then give out a firmware recovery number. Second time, it pops another message to contact samsung service center.

I had tried few times using that recovery mode and it still pops up the same message. Oh, I must say that I had it with this stupid Kies. I have this problem during the 2.3.5, but it took me 3 to 4 times to do it. But on this 2.3.6, I had enough of it. Wasted me enough of 3 hours.

Will go through the manual way tonight "ODIN"

inside Settings -> Location and Security -> change screen lock

just buy a new usb. u dont need to go to samsung for that.


i use odin when i was upgrading to 2.3.5, everything works well. but make sure u do a full backup for everything, unlike kies, using odin u will lose everything including ur apps and data.
