Ive updated to ios 5.1 and my battery drained to 99% in standby mode 3hours, 37minutes and usage 9minutes.

This is true. You'll need the entire file for jailbreak purpose, so one way or another way, if the intention to jailbreak is there, download the firmware from iTunes.

By the way, in order to downgrade the firmware through iTunes, is it a must to have the iTunes updated to v10.6?

Not so because before this i used 5.0 standby 8hours,30mins and usage 10mins then it dropped to 99% hehe

Unfortunately, it dropped to 93% now since I last posted. So for the past 30 minutes my 3G is on and it dropped that much

Did you off all notification, location & push email?

Why don't let the battery run for a day and see how it goes around?

i'm sorry to say this, but just telling you guys fyi la okay
this isn't good to me, cause i'm on 5.0.1 with jb and i charge it to 100% at about 2am, and unplugged it and left into standby and the next day
it was 100% with 7hours, 23minutes standby and 19minutes usage
on 3G but with push notifications and location services tweaked to only use those that are important to me, im guessing that helps a bit?

i don't think it's possible to downgrade after you've upgraded to 5.1 if apple stops signing the firmware for 5.0.1
i THINK la, not too sure, cause that's what everyone in the jailbreak community is saying, not to upgrade to 5.1 cause u can't downgrade it once apple stops signing the firmware

Once you upgrade to 5.1, there is no way to downgrade to 5.0.1. It doesn't matter if you saved the SHSH. There is no path to downgrade to 5.0.1

Only those on A4 chip and older can downgrade and they can only downgrade to iOS 4.x and only if they saved the 4.xx SHSH
