Strange that I read in 9to5 that the new updates has a loophole to gain access to your lock device by pressing the home button while accessing camera from lock screen. However, I can't seem to get into mine without bypassing the lock code screen when I pressed the home button.

Whatever you do, just make sure you do a full backup of your iPhone before updating.
I believe if you do the OTA update, you won't lose anything. If you do a full restore to 5.1, then you will need to restore your backup after the update. |

There is only 2 straight ways to download. One is via iPhone updater and another is simply by using iTunes. On unifi, iTunes takes about 20 minutes.
No issue when restoring. Just remember to backup Battery wise, I see very slight improvement and like what others said, don't hope for drastic battery life. Slightly better yes but nothing more. Added on March 9, 2012, 7:50 am QUOTE(yeelin04 @ Mar 9 2012, 02:41 AM) You can restore via backup trough iTunes or iCloud. Not a problem. This post has been edited by nicregi: Mar 9 2012, 07:50 AM |

QUOTE(ssangyongs @ Mar 9 2012, 12:06 AM) updated my iPhone 4s thru iTunes, the file is quite big i think 800++ mb. +1. true that bro, all smartphones have the same problem. which is battery life. they should come out with something that can extend the battery life. blackberry is much worser than iphone. drained to fast. same thing goes with S2Battery significantly improves, only during first hour. Usually when i disconnect after 100% charged it will only last less than hour if i make few calls and whatsapp. But it still showed 100% after one hour. i think it can be considered good already. iCloud on, notifications on, Siri On, 3G on, wifi and bluetooth OFF. After few minutes on FB, and whatsapp, the batt back to normal drain already. Damn it. I don't really care anyway, because i get used to it. I don't want to disable everything on the smartphone, I'd rather charge it often than to lose some smartphone functions. If disable everything better use nokia 3310 instead. So guys, don't hope too drastic battery life with this 5.1 update. My only solution to battery drain problem is simple, get used to it. Get a car charger or mobile batteries or whatnots. My friend on Galaxy S2 also tell me the same thing her battery won't last a day, but people seems to make a big fuss because it's Apple. My blackberry which don't even have a quarter of iPhone apps can only last barely a day. If i don't use BBM. So if iPhone battery can only last a day with loads of apps to use, i think it's a good deal already. I think the best feature to increase battery life is the 3G toggle switch. but digi at my place sucks, so i have to switch it ON. Tomorrow will test with whatsapp not in use and very brief FB browsing. gonna update here for you guys Added on March 9, 2012, 9:27 am QUOTE(unequalteck @ Mar 8 2012, 08:34 AM) heh, so? does it hurt u? did Apple ask money from u? i own an iphone 4, i upgraded to 4s which i dont regret at all. iphone 4 can be lag sometimes. this is true. plus, signal problem etc. its the same as 3g and 3gs. iPhone 4 is not the greatest change yet. Apple would probably come out with a new product that can bring revolution to this world like they did before when they announced iPhone 2G in 2007. It is all started with iPhone 2G. If there is no iPhone 2G, there is no Samsung S2 or such. endThis post has been edited by firdausbhari: Mar 9 2012, 09:27 AM |

iOS 5.1 really help a lot in ip4s battery life. Last night fully charge 100% at ard 10.30pm, just left it there and go to sleep. This morning 6.45am, it only drop to 96%. Very impressive!

Yeah, I just use some instagram and mail checking then sleep already. Before that (5.0.1) the battery drain a lot, ard the same situation it will be ard 85%. So this new result for me is consider really good. This post has been edited by carlosnest: Mar 9 2012, 10:26 AM |

IOS 5.1 bring back the 3G toggle so for those who want more battery life, just turn off the 3G while keeping the Data on. This will revert to 2G or EDGE which consume very little power yet you still have internet connection.
