WH for rain shower depends on water pressure. If not good then need another external pump. This will increase flow rate and make the water pass thru fast that it may not heat up sufficiently, hence may need 4800W heater (rather than 3kW class heater, but 4800W heater will also need uprated wiring 4mm or 6mm cables - cannot use standard 2.5mm cables)

This 1 looks good, but must made sure you have enough incoming water pressure in order to enjoy your rain shower wink.gif

Dear All,

Recently i want to purchase a additional water heater for my guest room. Budget (below RM300).

I found that most of the water heater is 3.6KW (alpha, joven, panasonic, centon) while 2 brands midea and toshiba 3.8KW.

May i ask
1) It is 3.8kw can heat up the water more faster and water also more hot?
2) Did this 200watt have very significant difference?

Because if same price sure will choose a 3.8kw instead of 3.6kw if the difference is significant
*
I believe you are talking about instant water heater. Yes 3.8Kw instant heater can perform quite good if your water supply is strong wink.gif
Another option is go for storage water heater, most of them are 3 Kw, different category.

I feel that nowadays cold weather I'm maxing out the 3kw instant water heater to take bath at cold nights. Strong, not really, typical condo pressure only.

Hye. Need recommendations from all of you creative lot..
Planned to install WH with rain shower in masterbed bathroom
But since the main rain shower already enclosed inside the wall, will it be weird to have two of em in same bathroom? One for cold water and the other.for hot.
Water pressure normal i think, comes from tank in the ceiling. But not crazy strong
Any idea how i can make it happen without hacking the tiles.

Go for storage Water Heater if you are staying a high end Condo. It is saving money and space.
For terrace house, instant Heater come with DC pump will do a good job for you. wink.gif

1stly, must understand that each rain shower unit will come with a mixer and 2 pipes ( 1 for hot, 1 for cold ). and for a nice rain " Shower "
you need to have a strong water pressure ( higher flow rate, at least 15 L/m ) from incoming to your shower unit.
By adding a new rain shower, you are require to duplicate the above set up, doesn't sound practical wink.gif

Rain shower dont work in this way - 1 for Hot Water and 1 for Cold water !! ( we are using mixer for 1 shower head )
The current rain shower head design available in market is consider comfortable for a Nice shower..
More important is the incoming pressure ( strong, about 3 bar ) of cold water to WH and direct to the shower head, then you will get a high flow rate
( at least 14 Liters/min ) at the shower head, if you can get all this requirement, you will definitely enjoy your shower wink.gif

Yes, i have a Joven Heater come with internal DC pump at home, if i turn to high volume, normally i wont get enough" Hot Water "
you need to lower down the volume, by lowering down the water, the output will slowly turn hotter.....
Enjoy your exploring wink.gif

Thanks for the input. Yeaa i love the current rain shower. Just hoping to get the same experience with hot water. Planned for IWH with pump. But highest i see is joven brand with max 8l/min others didn't mention about flowrate with pump much.
But not willing to hack the tiles and so.
But that Toshiba and pana N so pretty.. However been reading complaint regarding Toshiba poor output water pressure.

Hello, Im staying at Terrace which doing reno now.

I'm going to install a centralise pump near to my tanky , so that it boost up my whole house water pressure, so question arise, in this case

1. do i need to buy water heater with DC pump? would this increase my water pressure / may potentially decrease the water pressure ( if let say the water input pressure from pump is higher than the water heater could produce )

2. Does anyone had a good rain shower to suggest? Currently, I'm looking for alpha reno-i / bosch tronic 8000s , any user review ? please share... ( bosch is quite new, i'm not sure how good is the pressure output, and my family like hot and high pressure shower )

1. if the pump is after the tangki (i.e. PUMP INPUT = tangki, PUMP OUTPUT = WH or whole house all) then its already pressurised so no point getting WH with pump. waste money and or may damage the WH built in pump.

2. WH rain shower if you want hotel feel then centralised storage heater + water pump is the best.
Normal 3kW class instant WH is only good enough for its own default shower head.
2.1 There are 4.8kW class WH (hitachi, panasonic for-highlands model) which provide more heat output which will be needed as the water (once with water pump) will have less exposure time to be heated due to fast moving water volume.
2.2 For 4.8kW class WH u need to upgrade wiring to DB box as standard wiring CANNOT handle their running amps (21A load).
Standard 2.5mm cable is rated for up to 21A max load so not recommended to push it redline.
Minimum 4mm (max load 4mm), better 6mm (for long cable runs between WH and DB due to voltage drop consideration) - use mega kabel/caramay cable.

Why you don't you consider solar water heater? If your house in under Reno, then I suggest also a Grundfos water pump.

I live in a storey house, got centrailized pump and a common water heater. The pressure is good but flow is not huge as hotel rain showers. Also, water is not hot enough at night. Do I need to install tank-based water heater? also, will I need additional pump after the water heater tank? couldn't find much information on setting up hotel-like rain shower at home.

Also with tank-based heater, if i do not back home for 1 month, it will heat up the water inside everyday?

Thanks.
