This 1 looks good, but must made sure you have enough incoming water pressure in order to enjoy your rain shower wink.gif

Dear All,

Recently i want to purchase a additional water heater for my guest room. Budget (below RM300).

I found that most of the water heater is 3.6KW (alpha, joven, panasonic, centon) while 2 brands midea and toshiba 3.8KW.

May i ask
1) It is 3.8kw can heat up the water more faster and water also more hot?
2) Did this 200watt have very significant difference?

Because if same price sure will choose a 3.8kw instead of 3.6kw if the difference is significant
*
I believe you are talking about instant water heater. Yes 3.8Kw instant heater can perform quite good if your water supply is strong wink.gif
Another option is go for storage water heater, most of them are 3 Kw, different category.

Go for storage Water Heater if you are staying a high end Condo. It is saving money and space.
For terrace house, instant Heater come with DC pump will do a good job for you. wink.gif

Hye. Need recommendations from all of you creative lot..
Planned to install WH with rain shower in masterbed bathroom
But since the main rain shower already enclosed inside the wall, will it be weird to have two of em in same bathroom? One for cold water and the other.for hot.
Water pressure normal i think, comes from tank in the ceiling. But not crazy strong
Any idea how i can make it happen without hacking the tiles.

1stly, must understand that each rain shower unit will come with a mixer and 2 pipes ( 1 for hot, 1 for cold ). and for a nice rain " Shower "
you need to have a strong water pressure ( higher flow rate, at least 15 L/m ) from incoming to your shower unit.
By adding a new rain shower, you are require to duplicate the above set up, doesn't sound practical wink.gif

Rain shower dont work in this way - 1 for Hot Water and 1 for Cold water !! ( we are using mixer for 1 shower head )
The current rain shower head design available in market is consider comfortable for a Nice shower..
More important is the incoming pressure ( strong, about 3 bar ) of cold water to WH and direct to the shower head, then you will get a high flow rate
( at least 14 Liters/min ) at the shower head, if you can get all this requirement, you will definitely enjoy your shower wink.gif

Yes, i have a Joven Heater come with internal DC pump at home, if i turn to high volume, normally i wont get enough" Hot Water "
you need to lower down the volume, by lowering down the water, the output will slowly turn hotter.....
Enjoy your exploring wink.gif

I'm using Panasonic DH-3RP1. Low noise, as it's DC pump.

Cons: not rain shower type

Just browse for DC pump water heaters, they're low noise.

I am using 1 Joven with pump. 880P.
3 years now without problem..
Just for reference.. wink.gif

Good day all,

Kindly recommend me a good shower water heater (without rain shower type). Budget around RM500-RM900.

Currently using Panasonic DH-3NP2MS and really deeply disappointed with this quality brand.

Big fan of Panasonic shower water heater for a long time but now I have to think other brand.

This model DH-3NP2MS I already change 2 times within 1 year! Problem on the mechanism can't shut off water properly after press button off. I have to open the shower water heater cover manually and press like a needle inwards to shut off water. Still under warranty and they change the parts 2 times.

Best part the problem still occur after a while using it. Demand to change a new one and they agree. After change to new one and one year has passed, same problem happening again and can't claim warranty.

Now have to do manually open the shower water heater cover manually and press like a needle inwards to shut off water.

If your incoming water pressure is strong, just get a simple instant WH w/o pump and that can serve you well.. nod.gif

Thanks for the advise. Was aiming Hitachi and Rinnai brand.

Upon checking Rinnai Malaysia website they have new shower water heater (https://www.rinnai.com.my/product/domestic/electric-water-heater/rei-e380dp-c-bg-sandy-beach/) and comes with 2 years warranty.

Yes this looks simple design..try to get a pair of Fire Barrier ( lightning arrestor ) install at inlet/ outlet for safety purposes.

hi guys, was planning to install ceiling rain shower and storage water heater. is there any requirement or thing that I need to concern? pump is needed for rain shower right? thanks in advance.
*
I have seen in Condo, they installed rain shower without pump. The key points are your incoming water pressure ( around 3 bar, i think )

and also the water flow rate, at least 13 liters/min for rain shower.. Check with your management office..wink.gif

Usually it is plastic insulation to cover the copper tank. Seldom see pure plastic heating tank.

I have never heard of Heating tank made up by plastic tank,,may be it is some kind of fiber glass, ABS, ....

Normally heating either made from stainless steel or pure copper, in IWH could be steel....

The pressure must be very huge in order to burst a heating tank !!

They is 1 key safety device attached along the heater, PRV ( Pressure release valve, or TPV ( Temperature Pressure release valve ).

This could prevent the case like heating tank burst..smile.gif

my toshiba water heater heating element tank bursted.
it is made out of plastic.
The technician said it is due to my water pump pressure too high and burst the plastic.

may i know which other instant water heater model's heating element tank is made of metal instead of plastic?
*
Firstly is your Instant Water Heater come with internal pump ?

2nd, is your incoming water pressure super high ?

It is not easy to have element tank burst in normal operation wink.gif

OR may be it is tank leaking with crack line ?

rdgs.

i am looking at hydro one and Seers tank water heater with their own patented heating element. any other similar brand i should take a look?

Common brands in the market for storage heater :

Joven, Elton, Centon, Seers, Hydro One, Pecol, Beebest, Midea, Meru, Alpha ...

Points you need to take note are -

- your incoming water pressure
- what size of the storage tank
- power rating of the heater
- heating time to reach 60 deg C

Happy exploring brows.gif
