hello guys . anybody here already got sms from samsung ? . man my dealer still not sms my the ewarranty .. kinda worried

of cos I am referring to those gadget that is "hot" and enuf for him to be TS lor.. such as G Note..haha

Looks like we can use other capacitive pen on our Note. Now i can feel at ease using my big capacitive pen (with rubber tip) as it will eliminate fingerprints and possible micro scratch when using the hard point S Pen.
p/s - but using S Pen is more accurate o_O

i received sms yesterday for 2 years warranty and it automatic register me to samsung app.

zzzz... mine too, bought from DiGi roadshow at D-Day. Until now still not yet received the warranty confirmation sms too.

Personally I'd think that you guys punya expectations for a threadstarter may be too much for some to bear. Why not share that responsibility with any threadstarter so that any new info can be added in without the one fishing around for info all the time. Anyone can be a TS and any new info, you present it in your post and PM the TS to be included in the first post. That way, all you need is not someone who is very knowledgeable on the product, but just someone who is in this thread often enough so that he can update the first post when new info emerges. Simple as that.

This is a forum after all and in a forum, the contributor is not just the TS but everyone else in between. Also don't expect to be spoonfed, instead be a productive participant in the thread by helping others answer their queries or look up the answers yourself if the first post is well updated.

That way, you don't need a singular person to cover many threads just because he is the only expert around, you can get anyone who is willing to grow and become an expert to be the TS. That is how you groom people to be proficient. I'm sure Benny had to start somewhere, and read up on the things needed to know become he became proficient.Learning takes time and commitment. Why don't someone else do the same and be like him?

The receipt is your warranty in case you cannot fish around for the SMS e-warranty. In my case, I'm holding dearly to my receipt since Celcom's time frame of processing new lines can be up to 7 days. My Note is basically a tablet now relying on the YES4G connection.

Not really, a few "hot" phone model has some good first posts other than uncle Benny's thread. So it is not our expectation is high (of course, for Benny's thread, we will expect higher )

but TS should preferably be someone who at least has good knowledge about Android. Yes, TS do no need to be expert in G. Note but the per-requisite will be able to be online quite often and update the first posts with useful info and most importantly FAQ. Else, many repeated Q&A will be there. I think at least 20% of the current thread is flooded with repeated Q&A.

I would like to volunteer for next TS but i cannot commit myself for the fourth TS and so on. I hope we can follow DHD thread's style - take turn to be TS for each version. So that everyone can learn and put in new ideas into the contents and layout of the first posts.

the lowyat member you bought from is a user or a dealer himself? if he is a dealer then shouldn't be worry to much. If he is just a user, then Samsung might have sent the sms to his mobile instead of yours.

Yes, i rooted mine but only root, nothing else modified - no flash custom rom or anything. just need the root for market enabler and titanium backup. Will familiar myself with touchwiz first before i see whether there is a need to flash custom rom.

oh i plan to root also but i wait for ICS ... yesterday was downloading the Gun bros game and it suddenly hang .. btw if u are rooted can u update the youtube ? .. for me i cannot update cause it say my region bla2 is not in region kinda thingy

wow... like that you need to ask him to forward you the sms if he received it.

need Market Enabler to update youtube and some other apps. Market Enabler need root.

I recieved this PM from a SGS II user ( joshuawang) who has proposed following fix for those whose phone has problem being detected by PC> Try it for those who is still facing undetectable issues with PC:

Resolution

1. Unplug the USB cable

2. On the cell phone, dial the following number: *#7284# Once the last # is hit, the PhoneUtil application is launched. Choose USB -> Modem and then USB -> PDA mode. The good mode should be PDA. Even if the mode is PDA, switch to Modem and then back to PDA.

3. Plug the USB cable.

* Repair USB connection for any Samsung Android phone
