QUOTE(bruce07 @ Dec 22 2011, 10:22 AM) hi guys.... i've been using N55SF for 3 months now... juz curious how is ur battery performance like???? i only able to reach 3-4 hours on minimum usage in lecture classes... connecting to a wireless mouse and wifi off... using only Excel and Word... put on Battery profile... how can the battery performance be enhance further... or is it already maximum with a stock battery???? thanx... Try use BatteryCare to check your power consumption.Disable any temperature monitoring software to prevent waking up the nVidia GPU. Check if any apps invoke the nVidia GPU. |

QUOTE(jjgcxp @ Dec 14 2011, 07:41 PM) Hello everyone. Today I've received my new monitor, a Dell UltraSharp U2412M:I'm the owner of an ASUS N55SF-S1158V notebook and I have one question for you. I need to buy an external monitor connected through HDMI, and I want that this monitor has a resolución of 1920x1200 of above. As far as I know, the GeForce 555M is capable of this resolution, the notebook has a 1.4 HDMI output, so, with this features, with a HDMI 1.4 cable that has support until 4K resolution, the monitor has to work without problems. But ASUS Spain don't confirm me if the notebook can get more than 1920x1080 through HDMI, and I think that it's posible because of technical reasons above explained. I know that some notebooks have "cut" the HDMI output to 1080p, but I don't know if the ASUS N55SF is one of them. Also, I've been searching through some forums and I know that some people, with a HDMI to DVI adapter, are capable of 1920x1200 resolution and above in other notebooks, but not with HDMI to HDMI only. Please, if someone know for sure the answer at this question or has an external monitor working at this resolution, please answer me. The Dell Ultrasharp U2412M or the ASUS PA246Q are waiting for me Thanks. Monitor It has a resolution of 1920x1200 I've connected this monitor through an HDMI to DVI cable: Cable and I can get that resolution without a problem. I've tried with VGA, and there's no problem too. |

Does Bang & Olufsen ICEpower sound makes a difference or this is just brand name gimmick like some asus altec lansing laptop speaker.
Is this using any dedicated hardware to increase sound quality ? |

When I play Portal 2 I notice some weird cracking sounds come from the speakers... and during the bass parts in some songs you will notice the overall volume drops for a while, I thought they just enhance the bass without sacrificing other frequencies?

Music now you have to press the P4G button (upper left corner), Music Now is just a music player (handy) but doesn't sound as good as in WMP.
By the way the left vent gets damn hot and roasted my hand... I guess I bought the wrong cooler. What is the kind of cooler where they attach to the vent called? |

Eh seriously, the sound is weird, whenever the player hits a spot with deep bass, the notebook will suppress mid range and upper range... then in places with no bass the volume will be damn loud
