Yea the new i5 line of N55SF got lower speed HDD -> 5400rpm as opposed to 7200rpm
But in return it got 2.4Ghz i5 processor which is 100Mhz higher than norm. |

When I play Portal 2 I notice some weird cracking sounds come from the speakers... and during the bass parts in some songs you will notice the overall volume drops for a while, I thought they just enhance the bass without sacrificing other frequencies?

Music now you have to press the P4G button (upper left corner), Music Now is just a music player (handy) but doesn't sound as good as in WMP.
By the way the left vent gets damn hot and roasted my hand... I guess I bought the wrong cooler. What is the kind of cooler where they attach to the vent called? |

Eh seriously, the sound is weird, whenever the player hits a spot with deep bass, the notebook will suppress mid range and upper range... then in places with no bass the volume will be damn loud

Even my PC with realtek DAC also suffer from this. It's like Realtek chip cannot amplify bass without lowering the whole volume down. Asus did not use any other special DAC... they just make a software in an attempt to make things sound better with the big speakers.
No matter what the lappy sounds terribly awesome |

N55SF... graphics are awesome. I run StarCraft 2 at ultra setting and in base mode it's like 24-30 fps but in hot battle it will temporarily decrease to 14 fps~
TF2 always on 60fps... Portal on 190fps+ Overall the graphics is awesome enough for now, I haven't test on Call of Duty though, still downloading MW3... Skidrow rocks! |

QUOTE(yijun513 @ Jan 30 2012, 09:08 PM) Be aware that the air sucked-in space under the laptop is quitely near the edge. The fans should aim there right? Anonoz Chong Hon Siong. You should aim at front part, the back (battery) part aint that hot. Basically ASUS did a good job cooling down the laptop via left vent. I wonder if vent air extractor will work. |
