Even my PC with realtek DAC also suffer from this. It's like Realtek chip cannot amplify bass without lowering the whole volume down. Asus did not use any other special DAC... they just make a software in an attempt to make things sound better with the big speakers.

yeah. Overall its a very good quality speaker for a notebook. Very satisfy with it

friends, am facing some problem here with my N55SF i5.

i duno why but seem like most of the time when i open my web browser and watch youtube, the video play but no sound is coming out!!! tried using google chrome and maxthon but it's still so random.. and then my laptop just like turning into silent mode, can't play song.. =(

then when i play song, there will be some zz.. zzz. sound coming out together with the song/music tat feel annoying, btw this problem only occur when i am multi-tasking like surfing the net + music player together...

anyone of you facing these problem?

Hi evryone Just now when i am google-ing about n45sf, i came across with N45SF unable to play modern game smoothly because of the GPU problem...IS it solved yet? Some says the latest BIOS solved it but some said it is hardware problem.. Mayb i should go for 55sf?

dont worry.. it is solved when u upgrade the BIOS and update the NVidia graphic driver for better graphic compatibility n performances.. so far some latest games played as my below signed .. run smoothly ~ mostly in high settings and ultra setting in MW3..

except nfs the run.. something weird
when during story/action scenes : bit lagging (high setting)
gameplay : smooth (high setting)
run in approx. 25 to max 30 fps only..

wondering if n55sf (i5) users facing the same???

Hi, just got my laptop also.. i5 2430m, 4gb ram, gt 555m 750gb hdd.. want to ask.. is it normal to get 55 to 59 degree celcius for cpu during normal usage, web browsing multitasking? and 52 to 55 degree for idle?

I think is depend on your room temperature..And do you disable the cpu turbo boost?

Mentioned earlier before,the game is capped at 30 FPS.

I follow what lee_what2004 mentioned..Go to "Power Option">Click "Change Plan Setting">Click "advanced power setting">Scroll down till you see "Processor Power Management" and under this section change the Maximum processor state to 99%...

hey guys, i can't search the whole forums if someone has made a guide to working of music now! on asus n55sf. So i'm posting here for some help regarding it. when i hit the key that runs music now! utility it launches my laptop and displays the opening screen and then shows an error saying that the installation is incomplete and pls repair it. In my start menu there are 2 icons, one is repair installer and other is uninstall. i tried repair the process stops in middle with 1628 error msg. Tried to uninstall later n again it stops with 1605 error and can't proceed. i have downloaded the recent 1.0.8.0 utility also and tried to overwrite my existing 1.0.5.0 but still it didn't work the same error i get.

pls help me guys, its just been 3 days since i bought my laptop and how come music now! doesn't work when i haven't changed much in the laptop. i love this feature and want to get it working...

from the previous advices regarding music now problem/not functioning.. i remembered they all solved it by reinstall the ATKpackage... have a try.. good luck!

says WMI repository is consistent- going to restart now hopefully icon will change

never do this b4, perhaps in your..

C:\eSupport\eDriver\Software\ASUS\ATKpackage

setup.. remove atk package...
after finish~restart os ... re-setup it.. done..

mm.. try to uninstall-reinstall the music now again...

am i rite frenss??....

dude for some reason i opened the e-driver thing and it showed me a list of things that which aren't installed though they were there in my laptop. may be bcoz i removed game park , its games and windows live mesh activex in other languages from the uninstall programs in the control panel.
in this list there was the ATK also so i went with installing them again through e-driver.exe . ATK was succesfuly done but AI recovery and Live update are failing to do so. neverthless i can still open live update and ai recovery so i ain't bothered much.
Ok as u said i kinda reinstalled atk package from e-driver and then tried opening music now it shows same msg installation not proper.
and i can't uninstall music now from my system even though e-driver shows that its installed already.
any more help pls??

mm.. sorry.. thats all i got .. wait for the pros assists u here...
else, IMO, i recover the OS.. F9 ..
