I have the same setup as the earlier post. Equipment all in the 1st floor of my house. I then used Aztech 110EP (200Mbps) for my IPTV downstair, it works flawlessly. For my another room downstairs, I bought HL208E (Gigabit network), however homeplug pair for internet and movie stream is disappointing. I cannot stream 720p HD movies and internet connection is not as fast as compared to computers upstairs. This could be due to the electrical noise and distance. So it depends on the wiring of your house.

Hi guys, i have been using UniFI for almost 6 months now. Recently my whole house has been extended, anyone knows any good or recommended technician to rewire the fibre optic cable for me? I called TM, they say need to go TMPoint cause it's outsource, and it is quite urgent now because i want to cover the wires before my house completion.

Please advice thank you.

I registered Vip 10 Unifi on the 14th this month and the confirmation letter states that my installation date is on the 14th of Dec exactly 1 month.

Than just this afternoon I got a call from Unifi that they will postpone the installation date earlier to the 25th of this month.

Is that kewl or what =)

ASUS RT-N12-B1

http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...=122&Itemid=110

Yes, another Broadcom router from ASUS with custom firmware for UniFi ! rclxms.gif

Initial few hours quick test:
- both internet & IPTV no problem on my HG850a
- wifi is impressive at this class, strong, stable and transfer rate is good !
- device surprisingly not hot at all

This is the new model B1, uses upgraded chip compare to the first version of RT-N12.

Accordingly to ASUS, shipment is coming, should be in retail market soon, price should be very competitive, another affordable good option for those UniFi users who prefer Broadcom.

Will test further over the weekend. icon_rolleyes.gif

icon_question.gif klseet... You got DIR615 or not? Can help me try how to hook it up to 841ND? Now my setup goes from VDSL Modem->841ND and I want to use the USB on DIR615 for printer sharing. Tried to connect directly but it won't work. Might you enlighten me a bit on this? If flash to DDWRT I know it can be used but the USB port won't work right?
Mind help me check check what can I do here? Asked many times here no one answered me. Tried play around with the settings but still fail. Now if want print must connect to DIR615 wifi only can print, no internet when connect to that Wifi.

Yes. Supported! Just need SharePort software from either the CD given or download from D-Link then ok d. Confirmed working but the speed is really terrible for data transfer. Just for printing purposes only.

Try this to see whether it works.

Assuming your 841's IP is 192.168.1.1

- do not connect anything to the 615
- use another computer, connect to 615 either port 1~3 as usual
- go to LAN setup, assign the 615 with a static IP say 192.168.1.9, gateway=192.168.1.1 (this is the 841's)
- disable 615 DHCP, Firewall, wifi (if you don't need it), etc
- disconnect & turn-off the 615
- connect 615's either LAN 1~3 to 841's LAN port

Now you should be able to access the 615 by typing 192.168.1.9

Hi guys, any other alternative to open port?
I did the port forward settings correctly on the dir615 but the port still isnt open.

How can i go about it to get it done?

Or getting another router will solve the problem. If so which router would u guys suggest.

Question, what should be the IP in my machine by default. I'm using manual ip and gateway + DNS address (Time DNS). On the router DNS has been replaced with TIME DNS..anyone can advise if thats the right thing to do??

No problem doing port forwarding on DIR615. Maybe you should try again?

Hey... Before answering... I want to tell you that your signature is against forum's rule which it some sort of "distorted" the layout of the forum. Maybe you will want to change it before your sig get nuke by Mod.

Btw, there's no default IP in any machine. Normally IP is assigned by router, otherwise you can set manual IP on your PC OR you can save RESERVED IP on your router for your PC. Time DNS better than Google? Free??

Hi guys, have installed unifi vip 5.  so far so good.  I need some advices.  I watched TV via IPTV all the times so am thinking to off the wifi if I do not want to use it.  What should I do?
*
IPTV need Router ON to watch. Unless you just OFF the wireless signal inside the router, but still need ON power the router.

I have a question and appreciate i anyone can comment.... I just install unifi at my double storey house.. and the TM contractor place the BTU,RG,Dect Phone & STB at my first floor family hall.. which is not exactly what I wanted.. So now If i wanna all the equioment to be relocate to ground floor living hall... What should i do..?? I been calling TM for service but being push around... Hope anyone can advise..

If u really wants ALL things to be grd flr. I suggest not using Powerline or wired down from BTU from 1st to grd flr, unless you can left BTU & Dect Phone upstair.
If me, I will assign a Contractor to route the Fiber Cables to downstair instead, he may find ways through external wall instead.
If just recent u got unifi, u can call the Contractor directly the mobile provided to you & ask him to quote you cost.
2nd is ask outside Contractor who doing wiring. Ask to quote cost from all 1st, then only do.

I planning to get one later too.
May I know is it okay / good performance / stable, if I just buy an Asus Wireless Router connect to BTU and I do not do any custom firmware, can it still be good enough ?

If got USB model (download torrent) is even better that i prefer nod.gif

I don't think you can use it without flashing to custom firmware due to vlan tagging problem...
