Should have ask the contracter to wait and test line before he hit and run?

So I am guessing that the wifi signel of the router/modem that comes free for registering with Unifi is weak/faulty?

Its a must to change otherwise your wifi is f'ed up?

Actually, for all to note, the Unifi website states very clearly the Unifi installer MUST test all the triple-play services during installation. That means internet, telephone and IPTV must all be working before he can leave. That's also why they insist you must have a TV set around for installation.

TV set as in a TV that can support Hypptv? or can just use an old one?

Any TV with AV-in will do. If normal CRT, they connect the yellow-red-white cable, if LCD/plasma they plug in the HDMI.

Thanks for clarifying

I registered Vip 10 Unifi on the 14th this month and the confirmation letter states that my installation date is on the 14th of Dec exactly 1 month.

Than just this afternoon I got a call from Unifi that they will postpone the installation date earlier to the 25th of this month.

Is that kewl or what =)

Hey guys so I just got my Unifi vip 10 today and I wanted to get a new all-in-1 modem.

But when ask the retailers whether the Tp-Link & Asus routers (reccomended by klseet. Thx btw) can support unifi and they said their not sure.

They told me no refunds after purchase and that Unifi uses special settings in their default DIR-615 and I will have to bear the risk.

So I only got a surge protect extention and a telephone cable. No modem.

tl;dr: Can any unifi sifu's advice if on how I should go about changing/replacing my modem?

Ok because I was thinking there could be a specific model made by asus or tp-link to support unifi.

Maybe I will give it a try this next week.
