Just test drive the CVT model with my friend (whom currently owns FD2) at Global Amity, Serdang last Friday. Confirmed interior is all black. My friend full throttle the car with 3 adults inside (me in the rear seats, a bit suffering thou.. hahaha).
Low rev acceleration (in Sports mode) is better than FD2 but mid to high-rev his FD2 is better. Note that his FD2 was modded with aftermarket headers, dropin filter, CF hood and bucket seats.

I believe stock 6MT CRZ should be on par with stock FD2, if not better.

QUOTE(adrian23 @ Jul 16 2012, 01:54 AM)
hi bro,
happy to find this thread first of all..
i m currently driving a civic 2.0 8th gen and very interested in cr z.....
but i have a few concern here and hopefully u guys can help....
(*first of all i never test drive a unit b4 because all the 3 showroom do not have a test drive unit and no stock at the moment*)
1)i m currently driving a 2.0 (145hp) DOHC compare to 1.5(122hp)SOHC
-will it be very noticeable in speed recline-
2) 5 seater to 2 seater?
this 2 ques will be my main concern...
3) i would like to know the interior colour? is it black or white (referring to cvt model)
can u guys crz or non crz owner... pls advise...has been considering it for a week already...
is it worth the change?
many thanks in advance...and looking forward to hear from u guys..

I can sense alot of doubts here. Haha, since my family members own both vehicle, maybe I can give an opinion or two. nod.gif

1) First of all, Civic 2.0 has 155ps, not 145. It might have a slightly higher torque than CR-Z but also heavier in weight. I think around 80kg and more. For pick up CR-Z will win due to its lighter-weight and aerodynamic body shape, and also assistance from IMA (that is, if it's charged and run on Sport mode). But when it comes to mid-high acceleration Civic still win. And more stable too.

2) 5 seater or 2 seater? Well, just imagine this scenario: You have 5 family members, do you prefer to drive 2 CR-Z out for dinner (with 1 guy suffering from the tight seat) or just 1 Civic with all members on board? Do bear in mind that no matter how fuel-efficiency CR-Z is, it still doesn't beat 2 trips of fuel consumption.

3) Interior wise, CR-Z also adapted the futuristic design like Civic and Insight, with the digital display and stuffs. The seats are tight, might be tiring for long journey compare to Civic's comfy seats.

Change from Civic to CR-Z might not be considered as downgrade in terms of pricing and technology features, but you get a smaller car with smaller engine capacity, smaller seats (minus rear passenger seats too), smaller fuel tank, and small presence. wink.gif

Better go test drive before regret! Try the Glenmarie Honda, I tested over there before. biggrin.gif

Hey guys, my SA said that he's giving me 2 choices with the tinting. Either RayTech Security Film (4mill and 70% IR i think) or Llumar (5mill and 78% IR). What do you guys think about both the brands? biggrin.gif and which should i choose? :/

Of course go for higher IR %. 5mill is thicker but should be ok, 6mill could damage ur power window in the long run. But I guess have more choice if you willing to top up.

Oh, thanks for the feedback biggrin.gif I know, but what worries me is the brand, like some people say one brand is better than the other even if the features are the same.

My wife own a FD 2.0s 8th generation , personally i love it very much in terms of power but in terms of fuel efficiency manage to get around 350 to 400 if lucky lah for a full tank of petrol ( Not happy ) unless long distance journey and u don't tekan ur VTEC POwer lah tongue.gif

Still keep the FD 2.0 for family driving purpose  and sell off myvi for CRZ .

You can test drive at global amity http://www.globalamity.com.my/ only this company keep AT and MT of CRZ for test driving purpose .

The back seat is not suitable for adult unless u are small adult , and the front passenger seat have to move a bit to front to enable the ppl at back seat to seat nicely

The interior for MT is black and the AT for Malaysia also black

It's a worth change if u take it as second car for joy driving :-) not for family purpose tongue.gif

uhhh agree to disagree? i fetch some of my petite colleagues out for lunch "within 5km radius" and they are even complaining...they are all below 160cm

My friend just told me that CRZ cvt can FC can go up to 1,000 km on full tank.... shocking.gif

I told him that according to forum, where most are driving on sports mode, it can't be getting that good fc... but he insists.... sports mode can go up to 1,000km... haha...
