Has anyone done this before? I think by far this is one of the coolest looking kits around for the CR-Z.

Guys, I think the spec that Malaysians are getting is the CR-Z Alpha Black label for 6MT and Alpha for the new CVT model. Also noticed the Japan version comes with optional Honda Navigation system and keyless entry.

FYI, there's also Beta version (lowest spec) with minimum accessories and lower trim grade.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Check out this video guyst: http://www.mugen-power.com/automobile/conc...n/flash/top.flv (right click and save link)

Fast forward to 01:25 minutes into the video to checkout the documentary of the CR-Z Mugen RR. Also in the video the CR-Z laps Tsukuba at 1:08:612 which is faster than some sports car including stock Honda NSX as well. Pretty impressive on what this CR-Z can do with additional 70hp on the engine.

FYI, Tsukuba lap time reference: http://www.fastestlaps.com/tracks/tsukuba.html

Just test drive the CVT model with my friend (whom currently owns FD2) at Global Amity, Serdang last Friday. Confirmed interior is all black. My friend full throttle the car with 3 adults inside (me in the rear seats, a bit suffering thou.. hahaha).
Low rev acceleration (in Sports mode) is better than FD2 but mid to high-rev his FD2 is better. Note that his FD2 was modded with aftermarket headers, dropin filter, CF hood and bucket seats.

I believe stock 6MT CRZ should be on par with stock FD2, if not better.

Guys, any of you having trouble removing the front license plate holder? I removed mine and now there's 3 freaking holes at the front grille! The holes are very visible as they drilled the holes right on the grille (facing front). There are two holes on the 2nd row and 1 hole on the 3rd row (refer pic). Reason because my license plate has been relocated to the left side (below the left headlamp).

To remove the license plate holder, I had to pop one plastic clip from front and remove two bolts from behind the grill. This was PITA as there was no way of accessing it other than removing the plastic radiator panel which has around 8-10 more plastic clips.

I've been reading the CRZForum and apparently other countries have their license plate mounted with only two screws which can be removed easily without having to open up the radiator panel. And the best this is some of them don't have any holes and if there were any, the holes were hidden underneath the grille which makes it not visible looking from the front.

Any idea guys? My SA saying that all CRZ comes like this but I can confirm that the holes were not factory drilled as there were some "drill marks" around the hole.

P/S: Any idea how to turn ON the DRL LED lights only, without having to turn ON the tail lights/parking lights, like the CT200h?

Mind to share which outlet are you getting your car?
*
I got it from Tian Siang, Ipoh branch. Only took about 2-3 weeks to get the car including loan approval. But due to I waited for new number, it took another 1 week more. Oh btw, mine is 6MT

GenghisKhan, actually CRZ can be a daily car or a weekday car if you're driving to work alone or with your wife/gf. Best thing is you can park your car in the office and carpool with your colleagues out for lunch for further fuel savings icon_rolleyes.gif

Previously, with my 4 door, used to take turns to fetch up to 6 adults in my car as you know how stingy your colleagues can be even in a big MNC company sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

All CRZs in malaysia has that 3 holes lol. We don't have DRL in our Malaysian spec, ours only got 3 LEDs infront which is very dim. The JDM/EDM spec has 8/9 LEDs which is very bright, that is the real DRL, ours is just small light barely even visible during daytime.
*
Awww crap... just noticed from Honda Malaysia website "Halogen Headlight with LED Positioning Lights (Manual Levelling)".
Perhaps we can figure out a way to insert additional LEDs and maybe do a switch or something to permanently turn on the LED lights thus converting it to DRL instead of replacing the entire headlamp. If I'm not mistaken, there are additional slots inside the headlights for LEDs to be fitted.
So if that's the case, there are 3 different version of headlamps: JDM, USDM and MYDAMN (LOL)... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

speed lock is not available for our Malaysian spec CRZ
*
Speed lock not available right... but how about auto lock? I can't seem to get it to work, always have to manually lock the doors when driving.
One more thing about the seat belts, you must have super long arms to reach behind the seats to grab the belts. To make it easier, better recline to seats as it also helps to get in/out of the car much smoother. Maybe its just me thou... doh.gif

Hi,

Thanks for the info.. i've contacted JC Racing and they confirmed that the Sprintex can be installed to the AT CRZ

The kit is RM11,800 (including the parts & dyno- not sure if it includes the tuning) for the CRZ

There will be an increase of 30hp and the torque is 18.90 on the wheel, so the CRZ will be 150hp instead of 120hp (stock)

And there will be a stage 2 kit

I've always been driving a stock standard car, the CRZ will be my 1st modded car! smile.gif

Well at least i'm not modding the CRZ to look like another car tongue.gif

Actually have you tested the CRZ? If you haven't, I would suggest you to test drive it first.

To me, the power delivery is quite good and take note that this car is pretty light weight (about 110kg lighter than FD2R) considering the number of equipment it carries. It delivers 107hp/tonne and max torque 174Nm comes in early at 1000rpm. In Sport mode, you can easily burn tires (and clutch) if you're not used to the throttle & clutch response. Of coz, if its a CVT then its a different story lah.

Enjoy the CRZ in its stock form first, get used to the ride, handling, feel and its limit (when pushed)... then only consider upgrading the power plant if necessary. FYI, if you just need additional 20-30hp, why not consider NOS instead? Or maybe SC + NOS combo? thumbup.gif

CR-Z slow power climber? I don't think so, especially with a 6MT. The car can easily accelerate even with 5th gear, effortlessly. Best thing is you don't have to always downshift due to the IMA assist (Sport mode).

My display shows that I'm averaging 17.8km/l on my current tank. My drive is mainly to work in Cyberjaya with some heavy traffic at some parts.

The average will definately depend on whether you are driving on the highway or short distances.

I find that the most useful display is the histogram showing the current and last 3 trips. You know straight away what is the consumption for your current trip.

Hey bro, so you drive to cyberjaya often? Let's have a small TT at Cyberjaya, we have a few Z owners here too. PM me your contact and if you have whatsapp, I can add you in the Cyber Z group. Cheers
