16-50 f/2.8 SSM

pros: weather sealed (only useful if u have a77), SSM, f/2.8, cheapest 16-50 f/2.8 crop in the market amongst brands, solid and quality build.

cons: optimized for crop sensor only, reasonably sharp at best at wide open - could be a bit better, last but not least, there's no stock at 99% of the place for now.

just sold out my 75-300 just now.. rclxms.gif

btw, i saw 1 shop selling Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Zoom at rm600...and tested it...but i didnt bring my a550 go...they used a pentax body and test..the AF speed is faster and IQ is sharper...quite nice even at indoor...bokeh at 300mm F5.6 super damn smooth..the macro mode at 300mm F5.6 at 0.95m distance can give 1:2...quite nice!!!..

but i am thinking to get beercan coz of its F4 and sharpness... hmm.gif hmm.gif

how about the focusing speed of beercan on my a550?..and without warranty quite dangerous..what if it spoiled?..cost to repair is high?..

what i want is to use for portraits..and shoot some long distance objects like birding/moon-ing/spying ppl brows.gif

yes, i do need F4 and sharpness...trade off is an old lens without warranty..

how?..any advice?

quiet hsm so my subject dont run away
(well, at least they wont until the loud shutter mechanism sweat.gif ).
the hsm is smooth yes, but drains battery fast =__=
so far as my testing goes, wide open at 200mm is not crisp..
will test more

what are the diffrences between F43 and F58?
Dont really need a high-end one...
Just something good that'll last for a long time!

A77 sure broke. A65 already rm 2999 body only. Is A55 better than a580? I saw a580 have fullHD recording too.

May I know what's so special about 16-50 is it micro shot?

A65 i got mine, body only Rm2.5k

for me, if i can choose from tammy and sigma, i will choose sigma too, yes the tammy is sharper...
but i wouldn't bring a big chunk of glass out just for shooting! the size really matters
