QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 12 2011, 10:48 AM) Sony is now aggressively pushing its DSLT technology so all it's new models are employing this technology. In terms of usage, the DSLT offers a lot of advantages over DSLR since it doesn't use a flipping mirror inside. Faster response, faster AF during liveview and during video, better anti-shake functionality (since there is no mirror movement vibration to talk about) and also a lighter body. the most common thing that people complain about DSLT is the viewfinder, which is electronic (not the traditional optical type), but the latest generation viewfinder found on the A77 & A65 is the best in the market and is a major step forward. Hope that helps. Which model do you have in mind? |

kysham thanks.
Well i found DSLT shutter sounded weird like quiet type. Does this mean DSLR will be phase out in near future? Is the A35 permanent LCD screen a big disadvantage since you can't flip or tilt? Is it good to have two lens (18-55) and (55-200)? I prefer Sony Alpha cause its steady shot is built in unlike canon which is built into the lens instead |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 12 2011, 11:14 AM) kysham thanks. It is quiet because there is no mirror to flip. It is not the "traditional" DSLR sound, of course. But without the need to flip a mirror out of the way every time the camera takes a shot or a video, the amount of vibration the camera is subjected to is minimized, hence the camera's built-in steady shot works that much better.Well i found DSLT shutter sounded weird like quiet type. I prefer Sony Alpha cause its steady shot is built in unlike canon which is built into the lens instead the tilting / flipping functionality is good if you like to take photos / videos at awkward angles and has a tummy (hence cannot bend down as comfortably). indeed it is a great feature to have, but it comes at a cost. the a35 being a cheaper model, obviously will not have it. it is a personal preference if you want it or not. i can't say if it is a big disadvantage, or not. it is always good to have a wide range with two lenses to begin with. you probably eventually will want to upgraded these lenses as you progress along though. that is part of photography life (buying lenses and accessories). Oh, and don't forget to consider an external flash too. The F43 & F58 external flashes are excellent and are able to do wireless flash photography with the a35 right out of the box. Each image stabilization method has it's own pros and cons, but yes, I do agree with you that having the steady shot built into the camera body is really a big advantage as all AF lenses will become stabilized, even those 20 years old legacy Minolta lenses! |

Other than A35, which would you recommend? I prefer tilt lcd for awkward shooting angle.
Basically DSLT and DSLR doesn't have picture quality difference right? I found A33 seems very low spec. Is A55 still worth to buy or A580 would be better? Btw is it true that DSLT FullHD recording doesn't l record long enough due to APS sensor overheat? |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 12 2011, 11:14 AM) kysham thanks. it sounded weird because usually when u heard a DSLR's shutter, the mirror flipping sound covered the shutter's sound, the sound you're actually hearing is the mirror flip sound Well i found DSLT shutter sounded weird like quiet type. I prefer Sony Alpha cause its steady shot is built in unlike canon which is built into the lens instead i don't think DSLR will be out (so soon)...since most people still prefers "old technology" i don't think a permanant LCD screen is not a disadvantage to a DSLR/T, but i think its a big advantage if you have one! ALWAYS BETTER TO HAVE TWIN LENS there is alot features in SONY better than other brand camera(of course vise versa) some reason i like Sony is because they are the best user-friendly camera for me the built it wireless flash trigger the live view phase detection focusing full manual WB in entry-level DSLR/T(s) Added on November 12, 2011, 11:39 am QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 12 2011, 11:37 AM) Other than A35, which would you recommend? A77 sure broke. A65 already rm 2999 body only. Is A55 better than a580? I saw a580 have fullHD recording too.
May I know what's so special about 16-50 is it micro shot? |
