Just got my Lumia 800 with Digi contract. But how come I can't charge the battery while switching off the phone. The phone will automatically switch on after I turn it off. Is it the way Nokia smartphones are nowadays? Or my device is faulty?

And is there any sign of charging when the phone is turned off? Can anyone please enlighten me?

mine also same , unable to off and charge the battery, the phone will start up it self if you start charging.

i think no point shutdown phone and charge , cuz when charge phone , lumia 800 will run on usb power, not battery...

damn... how do i use the code then? cause i need to set up my data package... my hotlink credit from 105.08 just went down to 0.08 in 10 minutes while setting up the phone... all my money gone just like that....

for digi prepaid i use *116# for setting the data. i got some problem when try to access that while using lumia 800.

try pull out the sim card and plug it to another phone~

or you can just stop Lumia for using the data by turn it off at "Data connection" under setting > mobile network...

np... the phone use some of my credit as well but digi will stop at rm8, and then the whole day will be free for using the data ~

for your case it is much painful ... huhu...

just turn it off the "data connection" under "setting" > "mobile network", so the phone wont go online using the phone credit...

i am so gonna call maxis and screw them up... how the heck 10 minutes rm105 gone... i just used data to set up my phone and connect to google to get my contacts

Yes 3G is on. Changed to edge and it looks like battery drain is down. I will investigate further during the weekend. Looking through the nokia forums it looks like this is a potential culprit although it's strange that some people don't have this problem.

yup, without data plan your WP7 is incomplete.

you should keep the frame of the sim card...

Always remember that if you're in an area where your signal constantly switches between 3G and E then there's a higher potential for power drain.

Because whenever your phone is on E, the radio will use up more power trying to get 3G.

Did you install any specific apps?
Did you check your data usage before and after?

I called them up yesterday.

The customer service said maxis charged RM0.05 for every 10kb used if i remember it correctly.
