But I recommend u to change the air filter to K&N first. Stock AF cannot tahan to suction power after sunat. |

QUOTE(0300078 @ Aug 10 2012, 08:35 AM) but i dont think you can match Civic Type R top speed. The 1.0 has around 120 hp and is a 3 cylinder. Anyway this new batch of Ford Focus looks really good, price wise still dunno yet. And i read some where they producing 1.0 or 1.3 ecoboost for the focus.... but i dont think it will be as smooth as the GDI 2.0 that is gonna be on sale. |

QUOTE(Phantom Renegade @ Aug 10 2012, 09:12 AM) Didn't dare to play top speed as I was actually seriously in a hurry that time. I can hit 210km/h, no issue. Only mod to date is sunat and K&N drop in. With a little bit more road, can probably hit 220km/h. Surely top speed kalah kaw-kaw as the TDCi stock HP is only 130HP... actually at 180km/h the Type R already started to pull away slowly. But there's always an obstacle infront (lorry slow car etc) so he still has to slow down a lot. That is when the TDCi really shines. Maybe he thought I want to race with him.. I don't know. But seems like he is in a hurry as well. By the way my car is stock standard. No remaps.. not even sunat yet LOL. But speed at 200km/h sure is stable though since then I've yet drive the car anymore than 130km/h. This car is not "lembik" at all. Not sure why gahpadu mention it is lembik. A few weeks ago, met a Mitsubishi Airtrek Turbo, whack the fella kaw kaw. Did the drag test twice, and twice he lost. It was a short distance drag with traffic light in between. Not sure if the fella mod anything, but i did hear it's blow off valve. You can join us at Ford Owner Club -> http://www.fordownersclubmalaysia.com We also have a FB page. I switched from GT4 to TDCi.. migrated from FI petrol to FI diesel a kind of culture shock to me . As I mentioned , low rew diesel engine gave me a kinds of lembik feeling for the first few days driving a TDCi .

I think you have the same issue as most of us when switching over from petrol to diesel. Flooring the pedal does not give you that oomph that petrol car has, because inherently TDCi torque band is around 2k rpm. Try stepping the pedal at 25% instead of flooring it completely. The torque kick in is quite fun. I do 25%, 50% and 75%, trying to keep my rpm at the optimum torque range. Diesel engine does not have the inherent high revving feature a petrol head has. Anyway, torque aside the car is a mileage monster. One tank can go at least 700km, and you can still speed like a speedy gonzales. This post has been edited by Madgeiser: Aug 13 2012, 10:58 AM |

Very stable. Almost like my friend BMW 325i. That's (200km/h) the maximum I've ever tried. At least with a FD2R and RX-8 this Focus TDCi can follow them aggressively (tried it with against a manual RX-8 yesterday) on a flat road (stock no mod.. not even sunat yet). And when it comes to slope / hill Focus TDCi totally owned both FD2R and RX-8. Not sure if the driver of the FD2R was not pushing his car to the maximum but the RX-8 is (he came asking me about the car). Though I attribute the ability to taking over his car mainly due to the difference of torque between both cars. I might have a hard time if doing it on a flat road. LOL... where else can get a car that can: - Chase FD2R and RX-8 which both cars cannot outrun.. - Overtake both on a slight slope.. - Maintaining 200km/h with such stability and ease.. All while maintaining only 5.9l/100km. Dammmmm awesome... |

QUOTE(gahpadu @ Aug 14 2012, 01:01 PM) wait for 2015 after government promise to introduce Euro 4/5 diesel after 2014. I wonder if it will really come or not... Malaysia always slower than the world one. Slow till it may actually come true becoz after 2015 come the petrol company here will still said they have not enough time, no money.... bla bla bla then delay another 2 years.or else ..just buy current model |

Go Sime Darby Auto Connexion PJ... ask them around.
Probably got one or two units left. Awesome car. Just got the car 'sunat' last Thursday... damn can keep up with Mini Cooper S. I can't imagine how the performance will be after K&N, Mountune Airbox and remap. All mods below RM 4,000 total. Probably can go on par with Golf GTi?? |

QUOTE(Phantom Renegade @ Aug 26 2012, 11:04 PM) Go Sime Darby Auto Connexion PJ... ask them around. turbo diesel always has its limitation as it has lower "max rpm".. (6 speed powrshift vs 7 speed DSG) but its a great car emphasizing on fuel economy without sacrificing comfort and performance... 300Nm torque is great fun.. |

QUOTE(Phantom Renegade @ Aug 27 2012, 05:59 AM) LOL.. I meant TSI.. it'll probably keep up in a quarter mile run, after that, it's bye bye ford. and u can't compare jap car's high speed stability to conti cars. Jap cars are all limited to 180kmph (whether or not they have this speed limiter on). European cars have the autobahn, american cars have those interstates, they were designed to handle high speeds. Can keep up with TSi already makes me feel satisfied hahahaa...
