do you do barbell squats? i notice you're loading the weight to the front of your feet, and from my experience you're taxing your lower back (that happened for me when i do smith squats, anyways)
tried doing it with your feet slightly forward? hits your quads a lot better and kinda saves your lower back.
@zin 45 mins should be the max amount of time. but hey, if more gives you results then why not
@theCrab, you might want to work more on your poundages... 70kg bench is a tad bit low... I can do 100kg inclines for reps and its not considered a heavy weight for benching...
*my statement was not intended for bragging purposes, but videos on youtube indicate a lot of people lower than my weight (91kgs also) benching 100kg easily.

yes john actually i am setting your poundage as target my pressing strength is weakest among all and i use a wide grip(mid finger around ring,i know, not an excuses) 90 kg is 70% all fat btw any idea to let the bench press strength get up since i only train chest once per week? i always put bench press as 1st exercise
chill. not many in this forum can bench 100kg and more, to each their own progress. heavy is a relative thing. im sure theCrab would be able to bench 100kg, its just a matter of time.
Just try to add on weight on tthe bar as fast as possible and you'll be there in no time. You're not even a year into it and bbing is something that you do for years
Read somewhere if you're not four or five years into it you're still considered beginner, zz
need to ask something, about breaking your plateau. anyone can share or give some tips about this. i'm weighing at 71 kg and with bench press, max i can do is up to 70 kg only, but with spotter also. and normally i'm benching around 60-65 kg. been staying with this weight range for like 2 months.
How many reps are we talking about here?
The way I broke mine was to really reduce the reps and up the weight. Range of 3 to 6. Focus on getting one or more extra reps each session.
Though there isn't any science in this, going heavier sort of conditions your mental and your affected muscles to get used to weight. Whatever works, lol.
Ohh i see. before this i just stick with usual rep range (8-10 reps). With max weight, barely can do 2 reps only, with spotter. I'll try to use your method pula after this.
And ya, is it somehow the weight that we're benching proportional to our arm strength? If yes, probably i'll curl more. lol
you should be curling your max anyways. but yeah arm strength is proportional. you cant bench heavy with weak triceps, thats for sure.
btw its not curling more, its heavier and more tricep work
Say you have 4 sets for chest and 4 for biceps. So you guys usually finish all the 4 chests workout first?
if its a large bodypart + another large bodypart ie, your example (chest/back) then i alternate them, if its big/small, then i do what dan does, big one first followed by small.
its been a month since i went to the gym. haihh need to do a lots of catch up after this.
btw, wanna ask about protein intake. recently my friend got hospitalized bcoz of kidney failure. and yep, he's also into gym thingy and suddenly i feel scared pla if it happens to me smehow. i'm weighing around 70 or 72 kg maybe, and my protein intake daily around 80-90 g ( i use 1.5g protein per body weight). should be safe enough right?
probably bro DL can explain maybe since u're doctor right. huhu
u're not taking enough protein. its 1g/1 LBS of your BW, not kg.
since you're asking for DL to explain i'll let him do it instead. nothing to do here. the bb thread has been infected as well
Ur saying my butt should almost touch the floor? I've done lunges before sometime back lol, don't know if it's the same as squats I did my first squats(10x @40kg) yesterday, idk if I should continue doing it tomorrow. Just wondering what's the suitable weight I should get started on
ehhh i dont get it, how are lunges similar to squats?
anyhow, theres a squat thread pinned, take a look at it.
Do you realize what a barbell is? It's the big long one, not dumbbells. You've watched the videos, how did you come up with "1 hand 1 barbell"?
Yes, they both target your legs, but that doesn't mean the mechanics of the exercise is the same. Bench press and dumbbell flyes both target your chest, but are they the same movement? Same idea here.
hmmmmmm......
i dunno man, but thats an idea. you can use it sort of like a modified trap bar deadlift.
and would look friggin awesome doing it, lol.
