i have a friend who is residing in singapore and just become a citizen recently but there is a car under her name need to change ownership to her siblings.
does that mean my friend have to fly back malaysia to do the ownership transfer?
I have the same question but no one has to give an answer.
My friend called JPJ coz the owner of the car he bought already left Malaysia. As per JPJ, they should be both present for thumb print.
However, browsing the website of JPJ
2. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / DOCUMENTS
a. Registered owner who is overseas
i. A copy of the passport authenticated by the Malaysian Embassy where the owner currently resides;
ii. Sales agreement declaration signed by the registered owner and confirmed by the Malaysian Embassy officials where the owner currently resides;
I'm not sure if my understanding serves me correct... does it mean with this documents, we can transfer ownership if the original owner already abroad? Anyone tried this? I'm not sure why JPJ officer didn't mentioned this when my friend call the office.
