Transfer ownership Done. Now want to change old plate number to new plate number (bought through Ebidding). In order to change new plate, runner quoted 1.3k For inspection B2 PUSPAKOM and other things. Can I do it myself? How to discard the old plate number?
*
you can do the B2 inspection yourself, RM30 only and your time; then runner can do the JPJ forms for you, save a bundle

Can Just throw like that or simpan as kenangan? Next time buy new vehicle only put the old plate can? Do B2 need appointment or Just walk in?
*
all puspakom is by appointment only, pay online; i think the old number will just luput since not attached to any vehicle

early this year, i do B2 myself, then meet runner at JPJ to transfer plate, RM200

I have a car (under my dad’s name) with the insurance/road tax expiring soon, and my new car is only getting delivered around Feb/March.

If I want to transfer the old number plate to my new car, do I need to:

a) Transfer old car name to mine first, then transfer plate to new car; or

b) Transfer old car plate to my new car (under my name) straight?

Facing a situation here, im buying a used car from a private seller,

1. After PUSPAKOM completed, seller insists on full payment before going to JPJ thumbprint.
2. Seller says after puspakom completed and 100% payment done, If I wan I can take the car first without waiting for JPJ thumbprint.
3. Seller already drafted a SPA agreement signed by me and the seller regarding the sale of the car.

Is this above valid case in court? Afraid once seller take the money and i take the car, seller refuse to do Ownership transfer at JPJ. Help advice thanks.

dont; both must be done simultaneously ; meet at JPJ, make payment then transfer ownership

I agreed to buy a 2nd car from private seller. Car rd tax & insurance expired so car will be at his home.

Seller agrees to go together to do name transfer at JPJ, then go to bank to give him cash over the counter.

My concern is if :-

1. I can get the insurance immediately after name transfer

2. car is stolen from the time the name transfer is done, money given but haven't gotten the physical car in my hand, worse if I haven't gotten it insured

If car rd tax/insurance not expired, he can hand me the car while we go to the bank to do transfer.

Am I over thinking this? How can we protect each other?

how you do puspakom inspection?

likely seller taking risk on the road to do Puspakom w/o rd tax & insurance
*
after transfer, you can buy insurance immediately + road tax; maybe hand over the cash at his house where the car is

Thx.

That's a good idea. Good thing the seller lives nearby.

I will ask the seller to bring the car in front of the bank & hand him the cash at the bank.

curious, what car you buying?

That was what I read online.

What does it mean by "pro rated"? Does it mean the my insurance will also canceled and my sister needs to buy a new insurance policy?
(I am the original owner and my sister is the new owner)

Or does it mean that insurance can be maintained and my sister only needs to buy a new road tax?
*
road tax and insurance is cancelled, new owner must buy new; insurance will refund balance of premiums, pro-rated; road tax balance can also be refunded by JPJ

You need to upgrade to JPJeID Advance. 2 ways:
a. Go JPJ Thumbprint, say upgrade to JPJeID Advance. (Dont bother use this method)
b. Use app, do MyDigitalID first, then MyJPJ login use MyDigitalID, it will auto upgrade to JPJeID Advance.
*
yes, i did that using mydigitalID, into JPJ, then become Advance level, no need visit JPJ

btw, how to print the new VOC?
