Both also can. If u already rooted. It gives u cwm. If u not rooted it gives u root +cwm .give it a shot
Then how it root by the 2.3.6? >.<Rooting your Samsung Galaxy SII (I9100G), also updating/repairing a bricked one

QUOTE(dannysee @ Nov 29 2011, 11:43 PM) Finally, have my "G" unit rooted, Yes! However, have some experience to share here: YUP I have similiar experience have superuser installed n busybox installed halfway! Then run version 2 with time out increased to 10min n kill adb n kies! WALA! After fist attempt, as I mention in #665, a lot of "failed", "unable" etc. I tried waveweaver suggestion, install Superuser, success! Strange. Then I install busybox, NO, cannot, bcos it stated no root. More Strange! Then I re-do the rooting again using version 2, wow, everything goes well without all those "failed, 'unable" messgae, it even rebooting my unit after I hit "any key to continue" which did not happen during the first attempt. Then all busybox, re-boot apk all worked! Proven it is finally rooted. Yup |

@n00bz
Umm no it's not. Unless by "explore the fon" you meant running 1 instance of a mobile browser (non stock ones) w/ above 5 tabs loaded. Try combo'ing default power mgmt w/ JuiceDefender app. Works well for me. *shrugs* |

Power saving mode via Settings + JuiceDefender on "Aggressive" profile. Though I highly suspect that it's Jd doing the most work.

QUOTE(gsan @ Nov 30 2011, 10:54 PM) anyone free to try and let us the result? wonder really not longer capped at 1008MHz...even use setCPU to adjust to 1.2GHz but most of the time still running at 1008MHz Other experienced folks pls correct me if wrong, i think when u set ur phone to 1.2Ghz thru setcpu, its doesnt mean it need to be running at that speed. Its based on ur usage I suppose, only when ur phone running demands its, the cpu scales upwards, otherwise most times its running at 300Mhz.I use setcpu too, go under Info -> time in state and u can see what speeds ur cpu runs most of the time. I suppose if it runs at 1.2Ghz all the time, battery will be a goner. I use Titanium backup to freeze bloatware , autostarts to manage what starts when, BetterBatteryStats to troubleshoot for wakelocks and remove more bloat or juice suckers and use Juicedefender+set cpu using settings suggested by lennyUK ( chap from xda) and with moderate usage I can squeeze more than a day. The best I have got with moderate usage - some songs, some browsing, facebook and chat, some video, youtube, many text messaging, a few calls is about 32 hours. But most days its 21-24 hours on full charge --- > BTW this to ALSO answer the other thread about battery drop 1% every 4 mins thingie. i am satisfied and i am rooted
currently learning to deploy my own custom rom. btw, 1.2ghz when charging and 1ghz when not charging, that is why samsung names the kernel profile as "hotplug". so far i am satisfied with this profile, even i underclock it to 600mhz or 800mhz, much better for my battery |

QUOTE(hermanchb @ Dec 1 2011, 01:50 PM) It's my first android phone, i switched to this phone after 3 years spent on iphone 3g. I am in China, and being cut from all google services is really annoying. My G only have the possibilities for chinese accounts, since i'm not chinese, this is rather hard for me, my only option is a clean root to enable android market, then install all google services, usage of a vpn required for that...Despite this huge lack, i can find apk easily and install apps without troubles. This phone is really powerfull. I'm not looking for a custom rom, samsung touchwiz is really comfortable and easy to use. All i want is to use google services, but that need root, and i can't manage to root it so far :'( |
