Very weird. Using laptop thru TP 3420 ping is much lower than if using Ipad... sad.gif. Ipad is around 150 ~ 280. But laptop ping is around 40~80. Check many times also the same. Just now try to change to b/g from b/g/n, speed is more stable and constant. Right now stick to this b/g mode. Channel wise let it to Auto mode since my Streamyx is fixed at Channel 11.

Yup. I think also too, esp peak hrs. No choice, so far umobile is considered good in my place. Maybe later will try out Maxis again. Hopefully their system upgraded in my place.
Btw, i am quite doubtful abt the ping value. When i tested ipad, the ping is above 150 but below 200 all the time. My laptop so far is the best, all the time below 90. Today early morning test ipon, very bad, very bad above 250 but below 300. Very strange.
Tested these 3 toys again n again this morning 6am also giving me the same thing. My conclusion is not the tp 3420 router. It is not the modem too. It is the device itself.
But again, when i use back the streamys modem but connected to streamyx, which is chap ayam Riger my laptop ping is quite similar to ipad. Both below 75, n their variances is very close. In fact, ping for ipad is lower than laptop at all time.
Maybe apple products very sensitive to freq 3G. Router + 3g freq = no good. Today will try use some extension to apart the modem n router.

Hmmm. Tested few things.
Apart away modem to router, 1 feet. No diff
Setting router channel from auto to 11. No diff
Changing router mode to only n, g, bgn, bg. No big diff. Stick back mode bg.
Ipad Ping value still high compare to laptop. rclxub.gif

Added on April 29, 2012, 5:43 pmIs TP Link MR3420 support Huawei E372? Anyone tried before? I can't see it in their compatibility list. If supported, do we need to upgrade MR3420 firmware before using it?
Thanks.

Currently Im using Maxis broadband. So far, its worked fine when just plugging the bb modem to single computer.
The problem is occurred when i plugged into TP 3G router (Model: TP-MR3420), all of my computers (win7) only will disconnect from the internet service (still connected, but the wifi icon got the exclamation mark and cant access to 192.168.1.1) very frequently(1-10min will disconnect once), but iphone and macbook rarely. So i have to reconnect again and again.

BB modem is E173u-1
3G Router TP-Link TP-MR3420
BB ISP Maxis
Windows 7 Pro and Home Premium

Router 3G's setting
Mobile ISP - Maxis_unet
Connection mode - Auto
Dial net - *99#
APN - unet
Username and password - blank
Authentication type - Auto
MTU Size - 1480
DNS - 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS - 8.8.4.4

I have troubleshoot to TP, but what they told me is the TP-LINK router is functioning well.

too bad rclxub.gif the problem came back again.
took a few hour to go thru all the posts, nw changed to channel auto, wil take a day for observation.
as wifi analyzer suggested channel is 11 (5stars in my area), but router auto channel is 4 (only 1 star in wifi analyzer). Which 1 more reliable?

ya, my connection to internet does not have problem, no drop at all.
it's only when i use to streaming media at other device using dnla. no matter i use tversity, orb caster, plex media server, the streaming is super slow, even cant streaming at all.
previous using adsl, linksys wag200 no issue at all, streaming media on ipad from my pc using tversity is super smooth, even can do real time skip, no need to wait.

mr3420 is 802.11n, should have 300mbps max transfer rate, i wonder why it fare a lot worse than my wag200 with 52mbps max transfer...is there anything in the modem config i should look out for?
